Chunks Clinch Final Playoff Spot

The New York Chunks finally clinched a playoff spot with a clutch win over Zxc United BC. Zxc could have tied the Chunks in the standings with a win with one game remaining, thought the Chunks would have owned the tie breaker. Instead, the Chunks weathered an early injury to starting SG Alhierd Radzinski, ran out to an early big lead in the second quarter, and endured a sustained charge by Zxc for the win.

The Chunks will face the Black Mambas in the first round of the playoffs next week in a rematch of last season’s Conference Championship game, which the Chunks won in the Rat Hole Arena. This time around they will be on the road facing a much stronger and rested Mambas looking for revenge. The Mambas have already swept the season series against the Chunks and just this week added the most expensive piece to their roster, a center likely meant to counter the Chunks’ most valuable center Gabriel Cardona. This will indeed be a daunting task finding a way to get past the Mambas and advance in the playoffs. Though the Chunks have appeared in the Finals in every season the team has played in Division III, this time around the Chunks will face by far the most difficult road on the way if history will repeat itself.
