Chunks Dominate Season Opener

The New York Chunks have served notice to USA League IV.8. This is the Chunks' season. No second place finish. No Finals losses. The Chunks will not spend one more season in Division IV.

In the first game of the new season, the Chunks coasted to a 90-64 win at home over the Harrisburg Hammerheads. Though they didn't look sharp, their effort was still plenty for a certified 26-point drubbing of the Hammerheads. Five players for the Chunks scored in double figures, lead by Delfino Garrido's 19 points and 12 rebounds. Garrido came off the bench replacing Nicholas Gaffney who left early with an injury. Many of the Chunks' top players rested most of this match, and the Chunks still dominated virtually every aspect of the game. The Chunks now own a 4-0 franchise record against the Hammerheads.

Though this is only the first game of the season, the Chunks have established themselves as the team to beat. Is a perfect season a possibility? It's not impossible, and the Chunks are looking to prove it can happen.
