Ireland played Estonia. They lost, albeit not embarrassingly.

As qualification enters the business end, Ireland will spar with three nations from Eastern Europe, with very little business to be settled in terms of positivity for the boys in green.

Macedonia is first up, and despite an emphatic lack of success, the squad remains positive.

"The lads are in really good form this week, probably the best since we started qualification," said Elvin Leggitt. "Obviously qualification is out of reach at this point, but we're still trying to put in a good shift and make them proud back home."

What would a win mean to the team?

"It would be great. Just a little something to build off of is all we're looking for. We know we've got a ways to go in terms of competing with the powers in Europe, but you have to start somewhere."
