Press Announcements

The Battle of Evermore...

Yet again, I'm not really upset by the loss. #72 vs #36 - both TIED (and I ran the bench a bit), and a 89-60 scoreline. I'll take that. Interesting that post our first game vs Slovakia, our ratings have actually been climbing slightly - even despite losses.

In the game, Hutton, Hanson, Gibbs & Williams all got solid ratings too, and Marshall, Ball, Davies & Whittal not far off either. I'm not too concerned with the poor shooting numbers, Belgium have a very solid D - both inside/outside. Given I thought that this game could ugly, that it didn't is testament to the team we're developing! A long way to go, but I think we're on the right path.
Towards the end of the tourney, when we're matched against teams of a similar ranking... I think we have a team that could win a few games.

Game-ball-wise, going to go with David Ball. I really like what he did, and the way the current group of 19/20 year olds are beginning to perform makes me keen about our future.

Other matches in our pool:
* Crna Gora U21 70, Magyarország U21 112
* Schweiz U21 99, Latvija U21 83
* Malta U21 35, Slovensko U21 87

Good to see those pops happening on the roster. If you have any Qs on anything regarding training, feel free to contact me (nothing's changed opinion-wise for me from the beginning-of-the-season mail I gave each of you).

On GS. Congrats to those who have gotten their GS to Strong/Proficient. At the moment there is only one player who falls below Respectable on this. GS absolutely impacts the way players are placed within the rotation.

I'll be contacting the owners of the crop of 18 year olds that I'm watching for updates. Those players are:
Robert Bradley
Paul Burridge
Mark Deane
Jaime Shiells
Amren Stephens

That's all for now. Please keep eyes peeled for new talent that I may not have spotted, and let me know if new teams join Cymru!

Thanks...
