The Eggplant is mightier than the Pirate

Eggplantpopolopolous took it on the road for their first season game and escaped the Pakenham Sports Arena with a 115-103 victory over the Pakenham Pirates.

The most consistent player in the game was Eggplant's most recent acquisition, Filippos Kasdovassilis. A young 21 year old with MVP potential, who was only bought by the team 20 minutes prior to the start of the game and was quickly injected into the starting lineup. Filippos made his new team happy by posting 16 points (6/11 FG, 1/1 3PT), 15 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks in 35 minutes of play.

Damien Harnois, a player that blossomed in the playoffs last season for Eggplantpopolopolous, had a dreadful first half. During the first half he shot 2/17 FG, 0/9 3PT. But he managed to pick it up in the 3rd quarter where he hit three consecutive 3PT field goals and shot 7/11 FG, 4/7 3PT during the second half to end the game with 24 points.

Alive Isola, who was an all-star last season, changed his role from power forward to small forward to allow the new guy Filippos Kasdovassilis to start at the power forward position. Whilst Alvise didn't get as many rebounds as he usually does, he became a higher scoring option for the team by posting a game-high 29 points.

Eggplantpopolopolous has enjoyed immediate success and is hoping to be just as successful this season as they were last season.
