If everyone is cool with it, how about everyone post a short paragraph about your team and what you think you will do this season?

The Knickerbockers enter their fourth season in DIII.8 and fourteenth season overall.

They seem to have taken some lessons to heart after spending three seasons struggling to find a rhythm in DII.1. The Knickerbockers, keenly aware of the deep competition in higher divisions, are biding their time. They're developing some strong young talent with an eye towards low salaries through balance. They're also keenly aware of money and continue to grow a war chest through strong fundamentals and keeping a close eye on the transfer list.

While team president and general manager Karl Malone has his sights set on greatness through a bold (and private) long term strategy he seems to have more grounded goals for the season:
• Have a strong run in Cup
• Enjoy a good fiscal season
• Continue investing in our young talent
• Finish in the top 3 teams in the Great 8

The Knickerbockers franchise prides itself on strong team defense, and looks to bring in more diverse offensive threats through a few roster moves in the first half of the season.

Good luck to my fellow DIII.8'ers in season 30!

Work and life got busy this week, so I am a little late in implementing my own idea... So here we go.

The Blood Kings are now starting their 7th season in DIII.8 and my 15th season overall. There has been a great deal of stiff competition here in DIVIII and each season there has been that one (or two or three) teams that we could not beat when it came to the playoffs.

So we spent a great deal of time developing some lesser talent. They are not big dollar players, but provide a great balance to the team and are far more effective than their salary indicates.

Last season, we were one injury away from promoting to DIVII. That would of probably been a disaster as I don't think we are ready to fully compete at DIVII levels, but it would of been a nice salary boost and give me a chance to get another key piece with the higher gate revenues.

Because we had not planned on being that close to promoting to DIVII, the Blood Kings did no roster moves last season they followed this philosophy:

* Develop Talent
* Develop Arena
* Stash away some cash

But starting this season, they sold off defense stalwart Otgar Morganas. He was brought to the team the year we promoted to DIV 3 to help provide a dominant defensive presence. His offensive skills were not good enough to be started in DIVIII, but in rotation he was killer as he could shutdown most any defender he was matched up with.

So starting this season, the Blood Kings are running a thin roster while they look for a replacement for Otgar Morganas. They have interviewed 20 candidates so far this off-season and are toying with bringing in another inside presence or possibly bringing in another shooting guard.

But each time we thought we had a candidate, they ended up getting better offers from other teams. We are not going to overbid for a player, but wait and try to get someone who will be the right fit and the right price.

So this season the key word for the Blood Kings is 'Patience'... and no. That is not the planned offense I will be running in Saturday's game against the Cyborgs.

Good look to all and I hope to hear from everyone!

>>> Season 30 for the Cyborgs...

After last season's late downward spiral due to financial issues, the Mad Scientist has decided to game plan for the future of the Cyborgs, this experiment should take about 3 seasons until the Cyborgs will be competitive again. This is not what the Cyborg Nation fans want to see or hear and will most likely show their disapproval again this season and not come out to the Laboratory and support their team...

1st Priority - Control Expenses
2nd Priority - Develop Trainees
3rd Priority - Continue to upgrade Arena

Another area that the Cyborg Management Team needs to improve on is the utilization of the TL....

As the start of Season 30 approaches the Cyborgs will be shooting for a 5th place finish this season. Having a depleted roster, no depth and trying to develop Trainees getting 5th place could be wishful thinking...

Good Luck to all and let's have a fun Season 30 and keep the League Forum active.... Mad Scientist

Season 30 for the Diaper Dandies:

After a strong run during Interconference plan the Diaper Dandies made the playoffs last year. With a fairly young, versatile and cheap roster they look to compete and finish around .500 again this year, but aren't a serious threat to promote.

Strengths: Versatility, the Dandies can throw a lot of different looks and personnel groupings at you which means tactically they are a challenge to prepare for.

Depth: The top 8 guys on the team can all play a variety of positions, so there is no 1 injury that blows up the season.

Weaknesses: The coach can't put together a coherent training stategy and the bandaid effect is impacting younger player development.

Outside Shooting: No one on the team can consistently shoot 3's (although Kargu is streaky), and that takes the offense out of balance.

Goals for this year:
-Shrink the roster a bit, although I like 16 guys, I don't need them.
-Win some cup games
-Bank some cash

Good luck everyone!

Last night I ran out my B team against Cyborgs, and they played ok. Notably however, my PG shot the ball 59 times. Think of what an astronomicl number that is. I wasn't running outside isolation, or anything that crazy.

I wasn't at the game, but apparently my bigs stopped coming down to play offense in the 3rd quarter last night because Thomas "The Black Hole" Mueller wasn't giving up the ball.
