Not sure what you are saying... I wanted to try to make it to the Finals, but losing my team to Bankruptcy is not worth it this season...

>>> It seems as though we have a lot in common as to the direction we tried to take our teams and just as equal in not being properly prepared for the outcomes... Obviously you got your team back on track and the hard work to turn your team around could possibly pay off this season... this was definitely a learning experience for me and my management style in running my team. I am shifting my focus to the long term goals for the Cyborg Franchise, hopefully we will be able to make another run at D.II in 2 or 3 seasons....

With the Cyborgs going into forced rebuilding mode and the Tar Team in full fledged rebuilding mode. It looks like the Blood Kings will probably be the favorites to represent the Great 8 in the finals.

The Big 8 is going to be brutal, but based on the regular season matches... the Banahorns are my projection to be in the finals.

Playoff Predictions and other notes for Great 8

I figured I would start with the side of the ledger that I know more about.

I guess I would start with the statement that the Great 8 is a mess. Both the Cyborgs and TarTeam have dumped all of their older starters this season to start a rebuilding project. Only the Blood Kings did not drop players before the playoff run. This gives the Blood Kings the strongest roster going into the playoffs in the Great 8.

So I am picking the following:

Round 1
Blood Kings over a Tar Team roster that might have problems winning in Div IV.
Cyborgs over Diaper Dandies. HCA and still a fairly strong roster will allow them to win this round. The Cyborgs had probably the deepest roster in the league. Even after the fire sale, they still have a competitive roster.

Round 2
Blood Kings over the Cyborgs. While the game is not a guaranteed win, it is a safe bet the Blood Kings should beat a depleted Cyborg roster.

Finals
Blood Kings probably will not advance to Div 2 over the Bananahorns. If the Ducksnorts or the Bruelers de Loups advance to the finals, they have a slight chance. It is not a great chance because of HCA basically means all games in the Finals will go through the Big 8.

Relegation
Rip City Outlaws plays the Sandersville Preyers. Based on their prior meeting, the RCO have a solid chance of winning the match-up. HCA will play a key role in the relegation series. This series will go to three games before it is decided.

Surfside Corsairs will play the Illinois Riveters. With the injury to the Riveters star player, it looks like the Corsairs should win this series. If Elliott Carbone comes back from the injury before the series is completed, it could be more competitive. But I will pick the Corsairs to win relegation.

Other Notes
Rightway State2 will bot demote. It was a sad day when RS2 went bot, the owner of the franchise always fielded a competitive team.

Knickerbockers won their last game against the Blood Kings. They gambled everything in that game (CT) to make sure they avoided relegation. That gamble paid off and they start their off season early.

Looking Forward
Both the Cyborgs and Tar Team have significant war chests to jump start their rebuilding.

Cyborgs already have a very solid base roster right now, so they just need to enhance/fill in a position or two and they will be back as a top team next season.

Blood Kings made no roster moves this season for the first time in many a year. It looks like age is going to eventually catch up with the Blood Kings as some of their starters are going to be 31 next season. So they are going to have to either make a run or start to replace players in the next season or two.

Tar Team probably has the largest war chest right now. They have a very low priced roster right now, but they have always had quality well balanced players on their team. So I expect them to do a multi-year rebuilding project. They will be competitive, but not make a major push for at least two season.

Diaper Dandies have been steadily improving over the past two season. They have a solid younger roster and will be a contender for many years to come.

Knickerbockers have a very competitive roster right now, but all four of their starters will be 32, 31,31,30 next season. So they are going to have to do gradual turn over in the next two years. It does not have to be all next season, but some changes will have to be made. They have two good younger players that will step up to fill the void so they are not in dire straits... yet.

(continued in next post due to character limits)
