Okay, the 3rd Edition of meeting our new (but old) Neighbor takes us to a visit with Peluin, the Visionaries leader. Always fun to chat with, Peluin doesn't dissapoint as we get a chance to get to know him a little better :-)

1. After that last snoozefest interview, PLEASE say something funny, anything!!

I just got back from a lovely vacation in Cabo. Everything went super smooth, best trip of my life. Then at Customs on the way back in turned out my girlfriend had a warrant for her arrest. Wonder when I'll see her again?

2. What is that makes you a Visionary and the rest of us blind?

GM-Jelme drew me a picture with an eyeball on it. Or maybe he took a photo of his monthly salary.

3. This is your second time in the NBBA....Your first was pretty darn memorable as you won the National Cup Tournament in your first season here...what are your plans/goals this time around?

Well, I was considering punting cup and trying to get a home playoff game. Then I was considering punting EVERYTHING and buying 18yos. Right now I'm waffling and doing nothing, I mean, training shotblocking.

4. Okay give us the personal details...Where are you from, age, are you married, kids etc?

I'm single (how single?) / 29 / Los Angeles by way of New York -> Pittsburgh -> London. England sucks.

5. Do you ride a moped, own a tripod, fly an airplane or anything cool like that?

I wish!! I had a dream once where I had a plane that could land on the beach near work so I could avoid traffic on the 405. That was a sweet dream. No idea how I got home but it didn't matter.

6. You have been playing since season 7...I 'd imagine you have trained quite a few players over the seasons...who is your all-time favorite home grown player?

Havens (10591627) is the favorite. I think he only made U21 because Jelme played favorites. I love his non-fouling, so easy to train and I never had to curse him for screwing up a big game by going to the bench forever. He also ridiculously outplays his skills/salary somehow.

Lincoln (19238962) has a chance to usurp the title someday -- if I don't sell him off first. I assume these IS-guard builds will be out of style soon, I don't want to miss the bubble.

Honorable mention to Elwyn van Houten (8156874) who was a triple double machine and an absolutely ridiculous payday (bought for $2k, sold for $2M) after a few seasons of training.

Dishonorable mention to Ilmar Castell (2371560) whom I have "trained" into one of the worst players in the game. A few more appearances and he can rightfully join my hall of fame.

7. Who has been your biggest rival in BB?

I considered BB-Charles (22793) a rival, for awhile in II.3 it was just us on chat. He beat me one game where I missed a 3 pointer Buzzer Beater with my best shooter on the bench and told me he would look into the strange substitutions that happened on that last play. He never got back to me about it.

jfarb (28800) is a bit of a rival by proxy because when I finally beat Charles in playoffs, jfarb beat me in semis and made NBBA. At the time I think we were competing for fastest or 2nd fastest D5->NBBA or something?

I also have a secret rival: I'm 99% sure I went to elementary+middle+high school with this guy (23212). We were good friends for awhile but I'm terrible at keeping in touch. I keep meaning to say hi and then forgetting. I remember playing NCAA Final Four at his house when we were little and just doing sim mode so it's really no surprise that we're both here.

8. Being a long time player of this game, what is your favorite part of BB?

My favorite part of BB is trying to predict people's lineups (not tactics, I suck at those) and set up counter-matchups. It's not so easy these days since people actually train side skills and I can't just put jumpshot against the 7'0" guy, but when I have time it's still a fun thought/statistics exercise. I admire wozz's work on the stats stuff

9. What is your least favorite part of BB?

Road games -- too hard to win and too much penalty for losing.

10. If Brian is to $$ and Jfarb is to Freedom, what is Visionaries to?

Guards

11. Is Peluin in a Noun or a Verb?

It's an interjection.

12. What is your favorite NBA team?

Lakers now. Was the Knicks when I was little, but I skipped out on the NBA while I was in college (no NBA team in Pittsburgh dulled it for me).

13. Who is your all time favorite NBA player?

Kobe -- guy is a killer.

Nash -- not sure why but I that's always the comparison I get on the court. I think it's the hair because it ain't the shooting. Or handling. I pass okay though.

Ewing -- hair.

14. What your top 7 NBBA ranking as of now?

Great 8 except Coco in ascending order of (number of letters in team name) / (number of words in team name). Suck it, blue side!

15. Your roster is loaded with sick bigs...but your guards put up some pretty impressive balanced ratings as well...Would you mind giving a little insight into your teams build and your philosophy with this team?

I wanted to try to make base offense work with IS guards and JR bigs. There's no such thing as a JR big and base offense is wasting the IS. One way or another I need to blow it up, just a question of how many guys I keep and how big the explosion is.

16. Is this build different than you have done in the past, or sort of an evolving continuation?

This is pretty different. I tanked my way out of NBBA to train 15 straight weeks of Inside Shot for Short Kids. Wasn't worth it.

17. Coco appears to be shooting for demotion to D2...does this seem disappointing or are you kind of glad to see him go after so long here?

Eh I think Coco and I are cut from the same cloth a bit. It's a little disappointing if he does go through with it because I like legacy and he has an impressive one. At the same time you can't live in the past so I think it's a good idea.

18. Obviously cup draws factor in significantly as to who makes it to the Final 4 and beyond...but are you hoping magic strikes twice and you win the Cup again this season in your first (return) season in the NBBA?

Who doesn't want to win the cup? I have a pretty yuck draw already so I have to decide if I'm punting road games to stay in. Realistically I'd say I'm a 20:1 shot to win it, there are lots of NBBA teams that can handle me easily right now. I'm not sure I'd beat Funky Town once in ten tries for example.

19. This regular season will end right before the start of the NFL season...are you more excited about the NBBA playoffs, or Football season?

NBBA playoffs I guess. Like basketball when I was in Pittsburgh, with no LA NFL team (and spending that sports-less year of torture in England) it's hard to root too hard for anyone. I'm more or less a Steelers fan and they're looking disturbingly mediocre this season too, no train wreck of lottery-pick-awfulness, but not good enough to make noise.

20. How many of the 4 promoted D2 teams will still be in the NBBA next season?

Me once I decide what to do with my roster, BloodyEagles when he figures out how to buy some wins, and 10inch when he wins a relegation series over Myopic. So three! Sorry Dinosaurs Bone.

21. Feel free to add anything you like :-)

I'd figure something else out but it's bed time

Sounds interesting.

I'm single (how single?) / 29 / Los Angeles by way of New York -> Pittsburgh -> London. England sucks.

Woh, this just got good. What did she do? You're now single so either she killed puppies for fun or she's in jail and you can't really date someone in jail. But you've gotta worry, when she gets out...she'll shank you for dumping her.

There is more to this story, and I must know it.

Is she aaron hernandez's fiancee (and sister of girl dating the dead dude)?

Weird, I'm almost same age and went Scotland --> London ---> LA. England does suck, but the pubs are way better than here, and you can get home after...

Haha well I admit it she's a bit of a bad girl and it balances me out...

but in all seriousness it wasn't such a big deal, some family drama that got out of control. I got her back in a couple hours. But we're not allowed to go to Florida for awhile or it really might be serious.

Moral of the Story: Those who live in China shouldn't run multiple American teams :-)

I believe his account has to go inactive before he turns bot, as usual. But his GS and enthusiasm will take a nosedive, easy wins for everyone!
