Thanks for the kind words - I’ll get to work on this weeks work…soon (probably tomorrow morning).

I’ve been pretty busy traveling and trying to get some down time and it totally slipped my mind until just now. Looking forward to pushing this one out, though.

Week 4 Recap – Season 69
Tuesday, July 22, 2025

A week of grind-it-out finishes, massive rebounding gaps, and teams beginning to settle into their lanes—whether that means playoff chase, middle-of-the-pack tension, or prepping for the draft lottery. Let’s break it all down.
āø»
šŸ† Game of the Night
FR-S 102, Meridian Hill McMornings 101
Meridian nearly pulled off the comeback of the week. G. Nash was electric, dropping 27 points and 10 assists, and nearly dragging McMornings across the finish line with a furious late push. FR-S held their nerve behind balanced scoring, with Jun Beng’s steady hand and Mullins dominating inside (15 rebounds, 3 blocks). A nail-biter that showed both teams might be sleepers come playoff time.
āø»
šŸ”Ø Rebounding Beatdown
Ferth Ozone 103, Kiwi Sheep Pimps 101
The numbers don’t lie: 69–35 on the boards. Kiwi kept it close thanks to stellar guard play and timely shotmaking, but Ferth’s dominance in the paint decided this one. Faltýnek and Kochanski both pulled in 22 rebounds, suffocating second-chance opportunities. The decisive stretch came late, capped by Hess Araya soaring for a putback that the broadcast hilariously called, ā€œhigh above the rim and drops it in. Shot missed.ā€ Ferth improves to 3–1 and looks built for tight games.
āø»
šŸ“ˆ Quietly Climbing
Bench Mob 102, BC Lituanica 84
Lituanica was flat from the jump. Pessach and Baratović were efficient but could not get the rest of the team flowing. Meanwhile, the Mob looked in control throughout on the boards and passing behind a 4 players with double-doubles. Bench Mob now sits at 3–1, winning with structure, tempo control, and low flash.
āø»
🚫 No Entry
Innovatus 118, The Reductions 93
Nothing fancy—just a clinic. Innovatus picked apart The Reductions with smart ball movement and efficient finishing. Babenko and Ikoma both looked in rhythm, and the defense kept Reductions’ backcourt quiet. RĆ¢snoveanu pulled down 14 boards, but Reductions were -9 in turnovers and -20 in points off them. They’ll need more cohesion moving forward.
āø»
šŸ’„ Wobbles Wake Up
Wobbles 103, Tasty Tardsicles 85
Two wins in a row, and Wobbles may finally be shaking off the rust. Doerr paced the offense, while the frontcourt locked down the paint. Tardsicles looked disjointed after halftime, scoring just 12 in the third quarter. If Wobbles has truly found its groove, they remain a dangerous out.
āø»
šŸ“‰ Missed Opportunity
Llama of Wall Street 85, Delta 9 94
Another week, another rebounding avalanche. Delta 9 tallied 81 rebounds, with 29 of them on the offensive end. Camacho, Kochanski, and Bruner were everywhere, swallowing up boards and triggering easy second-chance points. Llama played hard but couldn’t hang physically. Delta is clearly leaning into a bruising identity—and it’s working.
āø»
šŸŽÆ Clean Execution
Wasco Tigers 92, Wellington Warthogs 78
No fireworks, no drama—just a clinical performance. Sorensen’s 19 led a balanced attack as Wasco controlled the pace and forced 11 turnovers on 8 steals and 6 blocks. The Warthogs hung around early but lacked finishing power inside, getting outscored 48–34 in the paint.
āø»
🚪And Now for the Weekly Door Prize…
California Supreme 152, The White Walkers 42
What do you get when one team is trying and the other is already on vacation? This. The Walkers remain locked in for a smooth relegation glide.
āø»

BuzzerBeater II.4 – Week 5 Recap • July 26, 2025

It’s heating up in II.4, and the league just served up a wild slate in Week 5. Wasco pulled off the Game of the Week in OT, BC_Lituanica rode the free-throw parade to a win, and Delta 9 dominated the glass. Let’s dive in.
āø»
šŸ”„ Game of the Week: Wasco Tigers 127, Kiwi Sheep Pimps 124 (OT)
Wasco’s halftime lead behind Katerskis (38 pts, 2 stl) and Guaraes (3 pts, 23 reb). Guaraes—not exactly the guy you want with the ball in his hands and the game on the line—drilled a game-tying three at the buzzer to force OT, only for Palma’s last-second effort to rim out as Wasco escaped. M. Davis orchestrated a masterclass (18 pts, 10 ast), and Pisano was relentless (20 pts, 20 reb). In the end, Wasco’s depth and clutch shooting got them the W, but Kiwi showed they’re never out.
āø»
šŸ‘®ā€ā™‚ļø Game 2: BC_Lituanica 115, Tasty Tardsicles 108
If you’re counting whistles, you weren’t alone—BC shot 46 free throws, raising more eyebrows than a lottery winner at tax time. Israel was the anchor (27 pts, 11 reb, 9-10 FT), and Skrzypacz was everywhere (23 pts, 8 reb). Baratović kept the ball moving (11 ast), and Pessach had a near-triple-double with 13/10/8. Tasty hung tough, especially in the first half, but couldn’t keep BC off the line down the stretch. Dickens (20 pts, 11 reb) and Bachelier (18 pts) gave a valiant effort. Are the refs Lituanica’s sixth man?
āø»
⚔ Innovatus 131, FR-S 103
Innovatus put on a clinic, dropping a league-best 131 points with Stapleton (16 pts, 16 reb) bullying the paint. FR-S was led by Rocher’s 11 assists, but they were simply outpaced in every quarter. By the time Innovatus got rolling, FR-S was gassed, and the gap only widened.
āø»
šŸ•¹ļø Wobbles 99, Bench Mob 83
Wobbles snapped their early funk and moved closer to .500 behind balanced scoring from S. Samara (24 pts) and Plum’s sixth-man performance (20 pts off the bench). Bench Mob’s star, Papitzakis led their scoring effort (inefficiently at 5-16), but took credit for half of the Mob’s assists (11 to the teams 22). The Mob never found a rhythm, and Wobbles cruised in the second half.
āø»
šŸ’Ŗ Delta 9 120, The White Walkers 28
Target practice can be fun and Delta 9 did just that, taking nearly a 100 pt gain in the differential, all while not playing a single guy 30 min.
āø»
šŸ”Ø California Supreme 116, Llama of Wall Street 39
California Supreme feasted on Llama, who is likely saving their best for Cup play. Duarte (26 pts) and Pina (23 pts) and Hardy (17 reb) got their numbers, but the llamas will be back.
āø»
šŸŒŖļø Wellington Warthogs 96, Ferth Ozone 76
Wellington continued their steady climb, using a big 3rd quarter to put away Ferth. Wong (20 pts, 10 reb) was a two-way force, and Longino (17 pts, 10 reb) held the paint. Ferth’s offense sputtered outside of Spuldzinieks (22 pts), and they couldn’t keep up late.
āø»
šŸ€ Meridian Hill McMornings 94, The Reductions 79
The Reductions never found rhythm, falling behind early and never recovering. Major’s 28 points and six threes kept it respectable. Meridian Hill’s balanced attack and swarming defense held off The Reductions’ 3rd quarter push, sealing the game in the 4th. Another tough loss for a Reductions squad still searching for cohesion.
āø»
🧨 Stat Sheet Nuggets
• Top Scorer: D. Katerskis (Kiwi) – 38 pts
• Top Rebounder: C. Guaraes (Kiwi) – 23 reb
• Top Assists: Baratović (BC), Papitzakis (Bench Mob), Rocher (FR-S) – 11 ast
• MVP: F. Pisano (Wasco) – 20 pts, 20 reb, 4 ast
āø»
šŸ”® Around the League
Innovatus is flexing their muscle as a dark horse, while Wasco’s OT heroics kept them in the upper tier. Lituanica’s parade to the line gives them a leg up, but can they win without the whistles? Tasty and Bench Mob are in ā€œprove-itā€ mode after tough losses.

Whooooooo buzzer beater game winner!

Just lost my starting center after already losing my backup PF/C sixth man... Could spell trouble if I can't find short term help...

Might finally be time to spend some money on a decent doctor...

šŸŽ¬ League II.4 | Week 6 Wrap-Up: Parity Edition (Tuesday, July 29, 2025)

šŸ”„ GOTW: Bench Mob 107 - FR-S 108 🧨
You want fireworks? FR-S delivered. R. Zviedris went full beast mode—36 points, 22 rebounds—and it still almost wasn’t enough.
With 17 seconds left, Daigle hit a cold-blooded jumper to put Bench Mob up 3. But out of a perfectly drawn inbound set, Zviedris splashed a tying three.
Then came the brain freeze—Jun Beng fouled Haiguo with 2 ticks left. Haiguo hit one of two… no timeout… and somehow Rudolph raced upcourt and nailed a running buzzer-beater to steal it.
Chaos. Heartbreak. Someone call T-Swift to write the song.

šŸ“ˆ The Reductions 94 - BC_Lituanica 83
The Reductions did what good teams do—finish.
Down 81–80 with 4:30 left, they closed with a 14–2 run. Ng Ying Ming was his usual flamethrower self scoring 26 on 10–20, and Mazl ran the show with 9 assists. RĆ¢snoveanu grabbed 16 boards and Alamaniotis chipped in 12 more.
Not the prettiest (40.7% FG), but it worked. BC_Lit shot 2–15 from three and ran out of gas when it mattered.

šŸ’„ Delta 9 122 - Wellington 117
A shootout in every sense—52.4% from the field, 50% from deep for Delta. Olmos and Porter each hit five threes, and Camacho cleaned the glass with 11 boards.
Wellington made it rain too (13 threes, 100% FT), but Delta’s bench and rebounding edge gave them just enough firepower to hold on.

šŸ¦ Tasty Tardsicles 102 - Meridian Hill 90
It was a 3 point game in the 4th, but Tasty brought it home down the stretch. Wui Kwong did a little of everything (18/13/5), Benoit led with 27 pts, and they were +13 in rebounding.
Meridian was the definition of balanced, but needed an ace to get going.

🪨 Wobbles 87 - Innovatus 69
Wobbles clamped down, destroying the (67, 18 offensive) and held Innovatus to a paltry 27.6% from the field. Ikoma came to Innovatus to have more than a 5/5/5 night. Innovatus and Wobbles each sit atop at 3–3.

šŸ¦™ Llama of Wall Street 111 - Kiwi Sheep Pimps 101
Big night for Kung Yung: 22/10/8. Llama’s inside attack was incredibly efficient, and 5 players in double figures.

šŸ… Wasco Tigers 115 - California Supreme 101
Wasco played strong from top to bottom. Pisano controlled the paint (27/15), and Wasco held the Supreme to 6–22 from deep with a gouging 17 turnovers.
Duarte did drop 32, but the supporting cast never fully engaged.

🧊 Ferth Ozone 141 - The White Walkers 50
Ferth missed 40 shots from the field, missed 12 threes, and missed 2 free throws to go with their 10 turnovers. They won by 91.

šŸ“Š Stat Sheet Nuggets
• Top Scorer: R. Zviedris (FR-S) – 36 points
• Top Rebounder: R. Zviedris (FR-S) – 22 rebounds
• Top Assists: C. Wui Kwong (Tasty Tardsicles) & L. Jun Beng (FR-S) – 13 assists each
• MVP: R. Zviedris (FR-S) – 36 pts, 22 reb, 3 ast, 55 efficiency rating

I’m thinking of doing a ā€œ1/3 of the way through the seasonā€ look at things after our next game.

šŸ“… League II.4 | Week 7 Recap – Sharpshooters & Statement Wins (Saturday, August 2, 2025)

From perimeter clinics to inside slugfests, this week showcased every flavor of basketball our league can serve. Some teams answered questions. Others raised new ones.
āø»
šŸ† GOTW: Innovatus 90 - Bench Mob 76 šŸš€
If there were questions about Innovatus, they answered them loud and clear. S. Richardson poured in 28 points with efficient shooting, while Sanchez and Ikoma orchestrated a patient attack. They controlled the game’s rhythm, walking a 20 point lead into the 4th. Bench Mob saw strong stretches from Papitzakis, who looked like an all-star with 20/7/8. The stops weren’t consistent, and Innovatus is suddenly looking like a top-tier playoff threat.
āø»
šŸ’£ Delta 9 114 - Ferth Ozone 92 šŸŽÆ
The lights were shot out of tetrahydrocannibinol Arena (good name, greater shooting). Delta hit 17–39 from three, with Olmos (34/7/9) on full MVP mode and Kester splashing alongside him. Ferth had a monster night from Faltýnek (31 points, 21 rebounds, 10 off.) but couldn’t keep pace with the perimeter barrage despite a solid showing of their own. Delta’s blend of shooting and size might have been the most complete performance of the week.
āø»
šŸ“‰ BC Lituanica 67 - Meridian Hill McMornings 99
Tough sledding in Lituanica. With the freshly acquired Alyamkin starting at SF and Pessach and Baratović trade rumors swirling (Baratović went 0–11), chemistry seemed lacking. Meridian feasted on the chaos—Nash was up to MVP things, coasting in control mode, alongside a supporting cast of Curley and Sarafis who led a balanced attack that kept Lituanica chasing all night. McMornings led by 39 going into the 4th and never looked back.
āø»
šŸ€ Wobbles 107 - FR-S 77
Business isn’t always easy to take care of, but Wobbles pulled it off this wee against FR-S. It was a smooth, easy ride to victory for Wob, beating FR-S at their own inside game. Zviedris still had a solid night all around (20/10/6), but their low post tactic couldn’t break through Wobbles’ defensive rotations.
āø»
šŸ… Wasco Tigers 97 - Llama of Wall Street 85
An old-school paint battle at Thiessen Arena. Pisano bullied inside while Sorensen found his rhythm from midrange, combining for 43/20/8 between the two. Llama leaned on Kung Yung for playmaking, but Wasco’s depth in the post proved too much.
āø»
šŸ’Ŗ The Reductions 83 - Tasty Tardsicles 73
The Tards weren’t tasty tonight when the Reductions flushed buckets down their low post (I’ll stop it there to keep things PG…)…. Ng Ying Ming was electric (31/11), and RĆ¢snoveanu anchored the glass 20 reb & 16 pts. Tasty couldn’t overcome poor shooting and rebounding despite a solid showing from Benoit (16/13, 6 offensive).
āø»
šŸ‘ Kiwi Sheep Pimps 105 - California Supreme 89
Kiwi’s size and rebounding edge dictated the game, holding Cali Sup to 29 total rebounds. Supreme’s perimeter efforts never clicked, and without second-chance points Supreme couldn’t keep up.
āø»

šŸ— Wellington Warthogs 122 - The White Walkers 34
The Warthogs went full-hog-mode on their way to a tight (88 point) victory. Perhaps most shamefully, allowing double-digits from the blue-eyed freaks in the fourth quarter. We get it, everyone’s tired, but that’s ridiculous.
āø»
šŸ“Š Stat Sheet Nuggets
• Top Scorer: C. Olmos (Delta 9) – 34 pts
• Top Rebounder: J. Faltýnek (Ferth Ozone) – 21 reb
• Top Assists: J. Baratović (BC Lituanica) – 10 ast
• MVP: C. Olmos (Delta 9) – 34 pts / 7 reb / 9 ast / 2 blk
