Congrats on getting to the finals man. I'm praying for injuries because right now it looks like it's back to the NBBA for you, especially with my ratings decreasing from GS and enthusiasm, they'll probably no better than tonight when I play you in game 1.

I guess I could have normaled, I don't understand how my team has such an easy time with the Register-Guard. Must just be a bad matchup for him, no offense intended and props for his cool press releases.

I'm a little scared of facing your team in the finals, you have some obvious advantages over me so we'll see how it plays out on the court good luck!

"Everything I can do you can do better."

until i figure out why i match up so poorly with your team, i don't deserve to advance.

taking Choluj as an indication of the kind of player you favor, i think i have a clue. i measure quality in a player by TSP, and Choluj is a phenomenally talented player for the salary. and you have half a dozen such players. you also stretch a dollar with your big men, but that is only a smart thing to do, for right now buying veterans is way of filling in holes in the roster -- i have resisted doing that.

holding you to 80something points is an achievement, but figuring out how to score is very difficult. scoring costs money -- and i am at the DII salary cap, unless i want to run a deficit because i am making a title run. so i am stumped how to improve that aspect of the game.

i will say that not only do i think you will win this season (possibly in two games, although the Mashers will provide more competition than i did), but i will be astonished and more than a little scared if you don't land in the middle of the NBBA pack next season, particularly if you pick up a $150,000 big man. if you are not, right now, a decent NBBA team, then i will have to dramatically recalibrate what it takes to succeed in BB, to levels i will never achieve.

good luck going forward.

What happen with UK's line-up last night? It looks more like an accident than an attempt at unexpected tactics.

it certainly wasn't Let Coach Decide!

amazing the game ratings were as high as they were, especially at C.

i found seasons ago the playoffs were a bad time to experiment with tactics and lineups. except when playing the Visionaries and desperation rules. i would not have thought UK was desperate.

It might be the blank-lineup-strictly-follow-depth-chart mistake combo. Still, Jeffries getting 15+ rating with at least some number of minutes at C is pretty impressive!

I haven't quite got NBBA competition figured out yet. You can coast by with punting every road game and winning home and cup (cup is pretty important for keeping your enthusiasm up in NBBA), but that doesn't get you first place. Part of it seems to be pure luck, catching people with tough cup draws or injuries or retooling.

If I were in NBBA right now and added a $150k big (which would put me about at the 'salary cap') I would be middle-to-bottom I think. Everyone up there has amazing players and my roster right now is a bit of an experiment -- it's not a suffocating OD team like Silverbacks (55952654) or a typical LI roster so I really don't know what would happen, but I'm not optimistic. I'm hoping that the shotblocking changes give me something to differentiate on when I look to buy that $150k big, maybe LI won't be so incredibly easy to run and I can finally get some value out of guys like Choluj.

Or if not I'll blow it up and start training some PFs

Getting a bit ahead of myself there -- I don't think I'll win in two games but I do hope to win in three

Janikowski isn't a punter though?
But I'm probably missing the reference...
