I haven't been around to do much so the fact that I had to skimp on my SF and failed to get a backup guard in time coupled with my failure to use TIE in two recent games has sort of crushed my hopes of a miracle playoff run

I am surprised by the lack of purchases at seasons end. I thought for sure you and Kentucky Wildcats would have tried to challenge Visionaries. I guess everyone has resigned to the fact that Visionaries will promote this season, takes some of the fun out of the playoffs. Maybe the relegation series will be competitive.

i found relegation so much more gut wrenching than playoffs -- to me, the stakes are so much higher. it is one thing if you've chosen to retool, and look forward to the demotion, quite another if it is a fight for your life -- it looks to me we have four quality teams (i lost to two of them, and all four played me tough), so i wish everyone well and don't for a moment envy your situation. good luck.

Agreed, it certainly is. Considering the #6 team is only 3 wins out of 4th in both divisions, I think there is a lot of parity in this league, excluding Visionaries of course.

Flash Mashers looking pretty good in that road playoff win, but overtime inflates the ratings and he only played 6 guys so I'm not suuuper worried

The market was pretty brutal around playoff deadline, I wanted to add a guy but there just weren't any deals close to reasonable. Not sure if other people felt the same way or just got lazy?

Same, I was planning on adding a backup guard but kept either forgetting or unable to be at the computer at the right time so I got outbid. Very frustrating, I could have had a much better SF AND a great backup SG and still have as much money as I do now if I'd been able to get on.

But yes, very impressed with my Tremendous inside scoring rating, it's the highest I've gotten. If I had a backup guard I'd feel very comfortable with my team... as it is with the lack of enthusiasm we'll have to see how things go.

i don't see how your squad is sustainable over the course of a season -- that is a huge payroll. i thought your effort had all the earmarks of Win or Bust. and that your strategy was to go Big Inside, a clever strategy against both UK and Visionaries.

That tremendous rating was eye-opening. You and UK will be quite a game.

It's not, but seeing as this is my last season in BB for the next two years I thought I'd make a last ditch effort to reach the NBBA.

Congrats on getting to the finals man. I'm praying for injuries because right now it looks like it's back to the NBBA for you, especially with my ratings decreasing from GS and enthusiasm, they'll probably no better than tonight when I play you in game 1.

I guess I could have normaled, I don't understand how my team has such an easy time with the Register-Guard. Must just be a bad matchup for him, no offense intended and props for his cool press releases.

I'm a little scared of facing your team in the finals, you have some obvious advantages over me so we'll see how it plays out on the court good luck!

"Everything I can do you can do better."

until i figure out why i match up so poorly with your team, i don't deserve to advance.

taking Choluj as an indication of the kind of player you favor, i think i have a clue. i measure quality in a player by TSP, and Choluj is a phenomenally talented player for the salary. and you have half a dozen such players. you also stretch a dollar with your big men, but that is only a smart thing to do, for right now buying veterans is way of filling in holes in the roster -- i have resisted doing that.

holding you to 80something points is an achievement, but figuring out how to score is very difficult. scoring costs money -- and i am at the DII salary cap, unless i want to run a deficit because i am making a title run. so i am stumped how to improve that aspect of the game.

i will say that not only do i think you will win this season (possibly in two games, although the Mashers will provide more competition than i did), but i will be astonished and more than a little scared if you don't land in the middle of the NBBA pack next season, particularly if you pick up a $150,000 big man. if you are not, right now, a decent NBBA team, then i will have to dramatically recalibrate what it takes to succeed in BB, to levels i will never achieve.

good luck going forward.
