Cross Chargers did their calculations and realized they were safe for another season. Both Rocket Science and TKI are built for the playoffs, but the Yuck did a salary dump -- did he foist a turkey off on the greedy Register-Guard? is he on TL for another player? it is getting late, and without another player i don't see him getting out of relegation.

On the contrary, I don't think anyone wants to play Yuck in the relegation.

Well, officially demoted with a big back handed bitch slap from the game engine to remind me how the beginning of the season played out. I was up by 11 half way through the 3rd quarter when my starting center and best interior defender was injured for 2 weeks. End up losing by 8.
Injuries crushed me this season. It was so bad I actually deleted my star player because you can't sell an injured legitimate NBBA starting bigman when the injury is over 1-2 weeks, even for 1k. With more than one early season back to back road games I also almost went bankrupt as the injuries caused revenue to drop over 100k per week. Now, with the 2 week injury I won't even be able to cash out as high selling before the playoff deadline.
Sorry for the "woe is me" type post, but having starters miss double digits total league games this season because of injury is just total crap. I almost quit early this season because of it, injuries like my team suffered steal all the fun from the game. I stayed because it was early and I was intrigued by the almost impossible challenge of climbing out of the hole with 8 legitimate teams playing for real this season and no money in the bank to make it easy. Alas, the hole was just too darn deep. This last injury just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I obviously have to sell off when moving down a division, but now I actually have to contemplate buying replacements.
Not saying I'd be challenging for first or anything, but as competitive as this side has been, I can't help but think I could have found a way to have much better PD and another win or 2 to make it at least interesting.

Good luck to everyone, it's been a crazy season for most of us!

First off I tip my cap to you lathrop, you put up a good fight. And my heart goes out to you as well, injuries truly suck especially ones like you described. I have been in your shoes as well and thought about dropping this game because of it, I have been in it forever it seems like and I continue to see things that if it were up to me would be different and changed.

So here goes my thoughts and suggestsions...hope someone is listening...

First off Lathrop reminded me on one, if a player is injured, he does not get a full salary (only half, the other is reimbursed by insurance), I know injuries are supposed to be part of the game but they suck and take a lot of fun out of the game.

Salaries should be paid on a per game basis, not a weekly basis, if a player is on the roster (even inactive), they get paid. With the current model for Tournys, no salary for those days.

Change the model for Tourney games, work out the economics such that it is great for a Div III/IV/V team to play an NBBA team..... at least financially. All gate receipts should be 50/50. Then we can work on paying players on a per game basis for Tourny games as well.

Fix the Draft so it makes sense to actual invest money in it......yeah we have changes this year but have not seen results. Also if you are auto relegated you get either the#1 or 2 pick.

Add a Home Grown Player pool where each team in the offseason get three HG players (these are trainees in their backyard that they scouted, maybe say 5 pts each) to choose from, you can select 1 of the 3. You dont actually get to see their attributes but you have an idea of what they are.....right now getting trainees is a crap shoot especially with the draft, some teams go many years without finding a trainee on their own even investing significant money. Lets change that.

Eliminate Game Shape Training so more investment is made in training attributes. Which will in turn make you work on your teams playing time.

Add the ability to limit playing time to instructions....30 mins Max, 12 mins Min etc.

Change Game attitudes to only two options, Normal and Crunch Time....like the playoffs

Add game attitude for BOTH halves....second half attitude would be affected by differential in teams Stamina....lower stamina team would not get as much as a bump in say a 2nd half CT....

Eliminate Game Day focus and improve defenses. Add double coverage....better description of Box and One....and who is that One????

Add option to not foul at end....especially for good shooting teams. Saw at WC's teams were very concerned about point differential so they would not foul at the end because of that.

I have had more ideas in the past but cannot think of anymore at this time....just food for thought...

Cheers

i don't know your team's detailed history, so i don't know if this game balanced several seasons of good luck for you with this season, or if this season's string of disasters has made you more statistically immune to more bad luck.

your season has been the vivid nightmare we all fear -- and i am sure i would not have taken your catastrophic season as well as you have.

hope your luck turns with the draft. good luck going forward.

Unless he gets dumped in II.4, in which case he may come back or may get swept up in the morass of crotch-kicks that is our fun league.
