does anyone have a clue how this Blank Lineup / Let Coach Decide is actually going to work next season? or, to put it another way, if games in the private leagues are already working under the "new" rules, i can't see that much difference.

i just finished a game against Pappy's squad (75242187). aside from my best player coming off the bench and getting only 15 minutes, i really couldn't see that much difference, and my squad had a reasonable distribution of minutes.

so is this much ado about nothing? or am i missing something?

I see a huge difference and am very worried. Here is my PL game (71987513). 7 man rotation doesn't work without the blank lineup. I'm thinking that Strictly Follow might work better than Let Coach Decide. Also interested in results from Coach Picks from Depth Chart - I haven't used that is years ...

could an influence be your opponent's limited, 5-man lineup? your AI selected the best players for the opposition on the court, and since his lineup did not change, neither did yours?

I'm not a supporter anymore to have PL games, but from the time or two I tested it, it seemed like it took my 10 best guys and made a SFDC lineup out of them. Like it ran Let Coach Decide to set the starters and backups and then stopped deciding and rolled with it.

thanks for the reply -- but i can't for the life of me figure out the key to your comment: what is "SFDC"?

SFDC = Strictly Following Depth Chart

Yeah, ozone is carrying over 1m in salary. I assume there will be some roster changes coming ... Otherwise, its a huge salary to carry.

back-of-the-envelope estimates suggest ozone may be able to pull off a huge salary through the end of the season.

i figure, based on modifications to the league average and his attendance boost, he may be pulling in $900,000 a week. losing the three players he has posted on the TL puts his salary at just over a million; coaches could be cut-rate, but at the very least he is spending on a doctor, i would think. call that $40,000 a week. that puts him in the hole $150,000 a week, which can be reduced with Cup winnings.

we have five weeks / payrolls to meet before the playoffs. if he is still sitting on a million (and his 26-year old should sell for that much or more), i could see him carrying this squad into the playoffs. it's a risk, but not an unreasonable one.

imagine winning the NBBA title in your first season in the league.

I definitely intend to keep this team together through the playoffs and beyond. It'll be tough to overcome home court advantage to win an NBBA title, but I'm hoping this team can make a good cup run and at least keep me out of relegation in this brutal conference.

You can win the cup by avoiding Bullish and not catching a bad road game vs NBBA team. I would also say that Delta 9 and ERG are also teams to be very wary of as they were the contenders for the cup last season.

Bullish has a very nice situation -- with a 3 game lead, he has a lot of flexibility with regards to the Cup. after this week, and especially when Bullish re-starts playing in his own conference, i think Bullish can only realistically hope to win two games a week. but that will be enough to getting him sniffing the Cup trophy, and if the rest of Great 8 continues to decimate themselves (only 2 games separate the number 2 and number 8 team -- quite amazing), then Bullish could well be in a position to not only win the Cup but also have HCA through the playoffs.

i wish i played this game half as well as AZ.
