NBBA Season 69 – Day 2 Recap (Tuesday, July 15, 2025)
by Buzz Beat Daily
Flashover Fizzles, Mos Eisley Rises, Knights Come Back to Earth
The NBBA’s second night of action delivered early turbulence for some early hopefuls while giving a first win to several bounce-back squads. Expansion teams continued to make noise, while some NBBA mainstays were forced to recalibrate.
ETBU Survives Splash Gang’s Speed Surge
The Tigers held off a late Splash Gang push, winning 93–91 in a high-paced clash that came down to the final minute. L. Feaster carried ETBU with 34 points and cool decision-making, while D. Cho’s sharpshooting wasn’t quite enough to salvage the Gang’s night. Splash Gang falls to 1–1.
Kings Knights Fall on the Road to 10inch Vertical
The grit-and-grind Knights stumbled in a 103–82 away loss, overwhelmed by Vertical’s physicality and second-half run. After a strong Day 1 win, Kings now drop to 1–1 and will need to regain control of tempo to reassert themselves.
HumanFund Roasts LA Lions
The Lions roared on Day 1, but HumanFund smothered them with full-court pressure and crisp ball movement. A 110–74 rout saw HumanFund notch 28 assists and 13 steals in a dominant showing—just the response they needed after an opening loss.
Mos Eisley Get First NBBA Win in Shootout with Cavaliers
The Imperials bounced back in a wild 115–107 win over Virginia, fueled by a monster 60-rebound performance. After a rough debut, the franchise notches its first NBBA win—gritty, fast-paced, and fully earned.
TarTeam Grinds, Visionaries Shine, Stark Stays Perfect
TarTeam continued its efficient start with a 98–84 win over Silverbacks behind Kruger’s 24 boards. Visionaries smothered Flashover in an 83–68 stunner—Flashover couldn’t repeat their opening fireworks. Meanwhile, Stark Contrast stayed unbeaten with another composed win over Resurrected Fury.
Mill City Thunder Evens the Record
Reigning champs Mill City bounced back from their Day 1 upset by downing Beware of Dogs 97–81. Quiroz exploded for 35 points while Ruojia set the tone on both ends. The Thunder are now 1–1 and back in rhythm.
Key Takeaways:
• ETBU Tigers are already proving they belong.
• Kings Knights must sharpen their defense and composure on the road.
• Mos Eisley Imperials’ hustle paid off in their NBBA breakthrough.
• Flashover’s hot start fizzled hard—was it just opening-day magic?
• Mill City Thunder responded like champions.
• Visionaries and TarTeam are quietly emerging as early spoilers.
Final Word:
Day 2 was all about balance. Powerhouses were humbled, rookies rose, and no team looked safe. With NBBA parity at an all-time high, this season might be defined not just by talent—but by who adjusts the fastest.
