WORLD CHAMPIONS SEASON 67!

WE DID IT ONCE AGAIN! After a season full of trials and tribulations, we were able to pull off an incredibly difficult win in the finals against Spain and win the World title in S67!

The first group put us in a difficult position. Our star Daniel Jackson was hurt week 1 against Lithuania who ended up being a playoff team which resulted in a loss for us. A few weeks later against Belgium (another playoff team), Fred Nichols was hurt and we also had a very unfortunate GS update so that was another loss. This left us advancing into the 2nd group with a 1-2 record, meaning we could really only afford 1 loss to have a chance for playoffs.

The 2nd group ended up being more difficult than it needed to be. We won the first game against Hungary, and then were upset in the 2nd game vs Poland which in hindsight was a poor choice in tactics. This left us at 2-3, needing to win out against Spain and China, so we utilized our enthusiasm to make it happen to at least have a fighting chance in playoffs.

We entered playoffs with the lowest enthusiasm of any team, but we felt we had the strongest team so we knew we had a chance. Belgium was a defensive masterclass with a balanced scoring effort from our guards, we were then met with a rematch against Spain in the finals. We liked our matchup against them, and did not think they had an answer for DJ and he showed exactly why he is the best u21 player of all time.....scoring 33 points in the final for the gold medal.

Player of the tournament: Daniel Jackson. He solidified himself as the best u21 player of all time, absolutely shattering our all time points record clearing Rodney Parham in 2nd by almost 200 points. He also tied the single season points record with Rufo Celanova. And lets not forget.....he is 2nd all time in assists with 100 behind Stewart Tripp.

Thank you to everyone for your training and support to bring this one home. This one felt better than the last......and I am hungry for more so let's go do it again!

Go USA!!
