I think you just had an unlucky week. You should try looking at how the DMI changes when you train GS just to get a better idea. Ive trained game shape for the past two weeks now and all 8 of my rotation players except for one is at proficient so it works wondrous for me.

i totally disagree
there is a team in australia that had a roster of just 6 guys, was playing 3 games a week with them & all were still in respectable - strong gs each week despite playing 100+ minutes a week
it actually makes me sick that gs training is so good
it is just that proficient gs (9) is a very random thing 2 achieve u can never be sure
but u can be sure with gs training & good minutes every1 will be strong +

as for my take, GS at high level of prof can stay up to three weeks, i have experienced this twice with two different players, i usually alternate 48 minutes in one week and 75 minutes with the other week, i seldom get a drop of two levels - the randomness is still there but it is usually predictable - when I train GS i can usually go over 75 minutes a week without experiencing a significant drop...(when i say over it is only a few minutes)

I trained GS this week and 9 of my 13 players are at GS 9. The rest are at 8. Worked for me.
Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Yeah, I had good luck with it. The last couple weeks I was out of the conference race but still had the 2 seed locked up. Since I've had bad luck with guys getting hurt going into the playoffs, I took the opportunity to boost my scrubs GS through PT and most of my regulars are still respectable-proficient in GS, which prob would not be the case if not for training it this week. In fact guys who were at 3 or 4 and didn't even play extensively are now at proficient.
Certainly some randomness to who benefited most, but I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Hoping it pays big dividends in the playoffs.

I've found the real benefit of GS training comes if you train it for two or more weeks in a row. I got my
entire
roster to 9 GS after two weeks and kept it there for a couple of weeks with GS training. I'm a firm believer that GS is calculated over the past couple of weeks rather than a pop or drop depending solely on the preceding week.

agreed. GS is based on more than 1 week.
Yeah, constant GS training does work fairly well for that. It's not quite a certainty that everyone will be/stay at 9 GS... but a much better chance than if you didn't. (you can still get guys dropping with perfect minutes even training it every week)
The other good use seems to be for minimizing GS drops from really extreme minutes (very low or very high).

I think GS training is mostly a waste I however, in a game where tiny differences can make or break your season, I'm happy to train GS for 1 or 2 weeks, just so I dont freak out and think "if only I trained GS i would've won the cup". :D

How was your minutes ? I'm thinking of training game shape this week, my top 5 player minutes are 60,52,50,49,48. Is there any point of training it ? I have a very tight and important game coming next saturday
