i'm getting kinda obsessed by Terry Irby. How can a player listed as a PF be a starting PG on a near-championship team?

Irby's stats give some clues, but not many:
-- 2:1 assist to TO ratio, but at 3 assists a game, not an exceptional passer, especially for the guy who starts the offense.
-- shoots 37% from the floor, but less than 4% from downtown.
-- 4 rebounds / game
-- more than 1 steal / game, and .7 block a game.
and he makes $15,000.

i went to BuzzerManager's salary estimator, and this is what i came up with, a PF with $17,000 salary that could possibly play PG:
JS 8 JR 2
OD 15 HA 13
DR 16 PA 7
IS 13 ID 12
RB 7 SB 7

such a player is close to a C, and a bit further back, a PG. i'm not sure what, if anything, this shows, for it is clear Jason has a stifling team defense, but at least those players are a bit more conventional. i think it is also possible that this PG may be assigned somewhere else on defense, but i figure that only begs the question -- what is this player doing on the floor, as a starter, of a very successful team?

Not bad :-) You aren't too far off....I'd kill for that Driving though!!

Based on his ratings alone, I wouldn't expect him to be such a contributor....As I put him in certain game situations my faith grew despite his ratings. That said, I guess he's kind of reminiscent of the old USA Elite players...That team always defied logic, and I guess Irby is in the same mold.

When I start him at PG, my flow takes a serious hit. His OD is not NBBA level as I have previously stated...his ID is great for a guard, not so much for a big. Estes has slightly better guard skills, but not as balanced in the big skills, but they don't suck for a guard either. The plan is to get their OD to 20; passing to 15+ ( haven't decided where to stop yet) and then 1n1 training until they are capped.

They will be my starting backcourt for a bunch of seasons to come, and I hope to have one of the most prolific inside scoring attacks ever, despite the new trend to create outside and/or balanced teams.

I am very surprised at their contributions at this point...so I am really hopeful with more HA, PA, and Driving they will become even more impressive.
