Nice work, T-Lit.

I got my Wembanyama (MVP)
I also got another MVP guard.

They both have big training holes but their potential will allow me to train them longer.

Home-Grown Success!

My PG, L.Donoguue (54231906) was selected to join the Ireland U21 NT today! I am slowly turning my Utopian team, Westopian Tigers, into a HG team too.

It was nice to see my young trainee make the U21 NT as a 20 yr old! :-)

...the Swan RIver Serpents would like to officially introduce Viktor Wembanyama's younger (step) brother, PJ Hunter (54415122).

Although he needs a lot of training on his inside skills, he comes complete with a great Jump Shot and range (like his brother), together with solid rebounding and inside defense (like his brother). Just don't ask him to block a shot...yet!

We hope that Hunter will become the new foundation from which the Swan River Serpents, together with 2nd year player, Livingstone (54107600) and MVP rookie, Muir (54415125) can build upon.

Start of HGL is closing, as first ever round of matches will take place on next Monday, April 7th, 2025!

There are still couple of things to finalize/do before that, so if you are a manager that participates for Season 1 of HGL, please check out this post: (326590.75)!

As some might have already noticed, I have finalized a rule/penalties set for Season 1 of HGL, which consists of 4 posts; this one (326589.7) and 3 following posts (all titled "Additional rules and penalties for violations").

Please don't be intimidated by the word count, it is mainly due to conversatory nature of my writing style and actually introduces only few penalty levels. Also, as you can see, post 3/4 will not apply hardly any (or any) of us during Season 1, but it might be very useful information especially for new managers with small rosters considering joining HGL in the future.

...the lord giveth, and the lord take the away...

The coach of the Irish U21 NT sent me a bbmail saying sorry but had to remove your PG from the U21 NT as he found a better guard.

Donoghue didn't even get to play 1 game. The flip-side, I guess is that he is only 20 and would be a certainty for the team next season.

Disappointing. Was looking forward to a small merch bump.

Those are always disappointing moments... I've had similar experience but other way around, with player at 20 getting to play practically (or almost, I can't recall without checking out the records) whole season in NT, and not playing a single game on the season when he was 21 (and yes, he was on my training program continuously, so dropout wasn't due to that but for other reasons).
And it's not only the merch bump (which in itself actually is quite considerable amount for the full season of play), but especially the joy of having an own player playing for NT.
Like you said, fortunately he still has one more year to go after this!

Respect! I started today with my new team to be the first (that I know off) Dutch fully homegrown team. I hope I can stay patient enough 😉

Congratulations!
Your team seems to be one of those, whose transfer history is totally clean of purchases, which will cause a so called hat off-effect in my case. I hope you would also consider joining newly established Home-Grown League (HGL) one day, for two reasons (at least)... First of all, you would have a very strong team for HGL, and you would be a medal contender (this season) based on your top 8 salaries alone. Second, I wouldn't mind a small Swedish vs. Finnish competition, as we already have two teams from Finland playing in HGL... :)
