My country rank just updated to be #1 after my cup win last night. As if we needed any more proof on how meaningless that statistic is.
Yeah, I personally think this is very disappointing...A game like BB is made for stat junkies...every stat and number
should have meaning in this game. The formula doesn't need to be a perfect reflection, but something better than "meaningless" would be great!
We went nearly 2/3rds of the season where our #1 and #3 team were winless....Currently our top 3 teams in the country are teams that just promoted from D2..No disrespect to them because they have all had terrific first seasons...but it's difficult to understand how teams who are no higher than 3rd in their conference could be ranked top 3 overall.
My team has the best record in the NBBA and is the defending Cup Champion and up until Thursdays ranking update, there were still 2 D2 ranked of me, one of them I knocked out of the cup last season. Bullish dropped 2 spots right after beating a team by 103 points.
Clearly the formula punishes victories against punters, puts too much emphasis on the past, and doesn't factor in current payroll relative to the division they are in at all.
Again, it doesn't have to be perfect...but at least have it be close. Being ranked #1 should be something you celebrate, not have to point out the deficiency of the system :-(
Regardless, you have had one of the most consistent teams BB steadily rising in the divisions, are clearly in the top half of the NBBA.....that is why the current ranking system thinks so highly of your team....so be proud of that :-)
