Hi,

I think I prepared all my games.

Short question - should I accept Buckner Bandits game with different hour? It's fine for me - just asking....

I have and we all need to. The original calculations must have been 1 hour out (probably due to daylight savings).

15/15 scheduled here, great job everyone

Next season, I will just google the time, my bad.

If and as you and Gccsteel are both located in Eastern USA, on Eastern Time (ET) time zone (which is GMT/UTC-5), you both were given same exact designated match time (local time). So again, this does not explain why Gccsteel's matches show up in schedule to be starting at 8.30PM, and yours 7.30PM. (For me our match shows correctly at 14.30, but according to one of my earlier theories, I don't know if it also can affect that I sent you challenge, and not the other way around - in some matches for MrJ that factor might, or might not have affected to how some matches seem to start regardless of those comparable teams supposedly being on the same time zones).

So why I replied to this is because I wanted to mention, that googling shouldn't be needed, as one can use match time given to them when organizing matches.

It could be also the case, that when EU now starts to use DST on March 30, maybe your matches will show up differently on our calendars - we'll have to see.
But for now, two things:
1. In order to get through this process, match can be accepted if it's one hour off (only when accepting challenges, not sent one hour off on purpose
2. Most importantly, to rephrase number one: never intentionally use 'one hour off' time setting when sending match challenges - all challenges must be sent with exactly that designated time setting, that is given to your team.

14/15 organized for my team; waiting for HCH to send me a PU challenge.

List of teams who have confirmed they have organized all HGL regular Season 1 matches successfully:

EDIT: refer to (326590.41) to see updated list of teams who have fulfilled their preseason commitments.

1.
[...]
16.

Please remember we will send all box score links to a forum before regular season begins. Each team does that themselves, after reading my informative post about it (in creation). If one is familiar with the process without reading an informative post, they are already free to proceed by following MtJ's example, here: (324689.683).

If you follow MrJ's example above, in an ideal situation, if you could also add a day when match is played, for example like "Round 1, April 7 - v. Trouville BBC" (if we use MrJ's format as an example). While it would be ideal for you guys to use full team names when you make that post, if you are really short on time, nerves, etc., you may also use official team abbreviations (such as TRO for Trouville BBC) available in HGL schedule.

Also please send that post of yours to official HGL Scores Season 1-thread, here: (326590.1).
More instructions on the official HGL Scores-thread post to each manager not familiar with the process, is found here: (326590.42) and here: (326590.43).

trust me, i did not want to be the one that messes this up! :-)

My bad! I am in the Louisville, KY area. We have always been Eastern Time Zone.

Not really sure where I went wrong.

My bad! I am in the Louisville, KY area. We have always been Eastern Time Zone.

Not really sure where I went wrong.

It seems that Kentucky is one of those states which is using two time zones simultaneously, so for instance Bowling Green and Murray use Central Time (which is one more hour behind). But like you said, Louisville is on Eastern Time Zone.
So who knows what is this about, but we'll go with this now.

@all: 1 hour off is needed to be accepted (for reasons that we can't narrow down enough to be sure of - it could be DST issues, as that's not applied to all countries and even when it is, it's not applied at the same time of year for all countries), but only when you are accepting matches (like mentioned in previous posting).

On other words, it is not allowed to organize matches (send match offer) deliberately on wrong time, or accept match offers that are clearly sent with wrong time. (This could be the case when you know your opponent is from the same time zone than you are, let alone from the same country, if it's a country where only 1 time zone is applied. T-Lit's case is hopefully only or one of rare exceptions here on this timing issue).

As you may have noted, all participating teams of HGL will be required to send box score links for all of their regular season games to this HGL Scores Season 1 Official Thread before Season 1 starts.

First notes A)-F), and then instructions on how to complete the process.

Notes:
A) these score links will be added to one post per manager, that can then be edited throughout the season if needed.
Links will be added to one post/manager to avoid overcrowding of HGL Scores thread, and for being easily searchable.
B) links to box scores (from your post) might be copied to the official HGL scores thread's 'Schedule/scores'-post
C) instead/in addition I might link your box score posts on official HGL schedule/scores posting, so that each team has access to box scores of your games easily
D) in playoffs, we might use this same box score post (and same link) created by each team; TBA
E) please never delete box score post then created by you, we might need it a lot later in order to confirm things.
F) MrJ has already provided us one example on how to accomplish this, here: (324689.683). But please still read through instructions below before proceeding.

Instructions on how to proceed with writing one post about your HGL box score links:
Remember, that you can't finish this process completely before all HGL matches for regular season are organized properly and visible in your team schedule page.

1. Go to your official BB schedule page, which is found from https://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/XXXXXX/schedule.aspx
(where X is your team number)
2. Click "Tactics"-link (between team names) on your HGL match that you wish to link (If term isn't 'Tactics' in English, it is the link what you use to set up your lineup and tactics for the match).
3. Once you enter on tactics/line up setting page, match number of that Pickup (PU) match is revealed to you in the browser's address line. It looks like this: https://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/XXXXXXXXX/tactics.aspx and number in place of this XXXXXXXXX is your match number.

Now at this point, you have two ways to proceed, described below as 4A (that MrJ used) and 4B.
Choose a preferable way for you and please stick with it for the whole season. Method 4A would be preferable.

In your box score-post on HGL Scores Season 1 Official Thread, you enter links for 15 matches.
For each game include Round number, a date game is played, and name of your opponent (like in MrJ's example, link above, even though he didn't include dates of matches).

So to your post, link the box score in either way:

4A):
By following above instructions you are on the match tactics page already, so copy/make note of the number of the PU match (visible at web browsers' address line). Then on this thread update it to your box score link post, and do so by using 'a basketball button' on the page into where you write text to be sent to forum; that is located above the text frame. Pressing a button will automatically create a string of text such as '[match=XXX.XX]', and as you replace XXX.XX with your match number, the box score link will be automatically created. It will create a functional link to a match box score, which will look like this: (132386153).

4B) by a direct web page link to box score, such as: https://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/XXXXXXX/boxscore.aspx (in where XXXXXXX represents the match number). You can simply access this by visiting above mentioned match tactics page. By following above instructions you are on the match tactics page already, so Pickup match number is visible to you. If you choose to use this 4B-method, you can copy-paste https://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/XXXXXXXXX/boxscore.aspx-link to your season box scores link 15 times (one for each match) on every line, and then for each line replace XXXXXXXXX with your Pickup match number.

5. Do this with all matches.

6. Ready.

Sorry, no accusation, but what I really don't understand is, why the entire organization is spread across multiple threads: (326590.42) and (326589.26)?!

There are multiple reasons, which I think I have written about in a lengthy manner in this thread earlier.

But as you can see, there is lots of information available on both threads (and more to come), and these forums are not ideal for handling lots of information.

Several things need to be considered when creating official thread(s), for instance usability over long time, continuity (preferable to not make major changes if not necessary for next seasons), ease of access to essential information (note, that both threads first and in future part of second page is filled with informative articles/posts, and in one thread implementation this would spread to the third page turn at the very least), and ensuring every participating manager would see everything as intended (in time) is also important.
Having a separate website for this would remove most of these problems/need for two forums.

First and foremost reason for it though, was that my idea of having every team adding all their regular season box score links to one post, had not seen a daylight at that point. So we were expecting to have 120-240 (120 matches played in HGL) separate posts during regular season from managers announcing their box score links of every single match.

Now this would effectively hinder the usability of the official thread, if it's a mix of this and that ((nobody really wants to see those box score link posts, but they are necessary as they are not visible to other users, and with this new implementation we are able to limit those posts to 16 (one for each team)).

One of the easiest methods, that creates a standard for the league and for box score reporting, would be to use this official schedule as a starting point, here: (326590.5).

For illustration (and usability) purposes I copy-pasted a schedule from that post (found from below).
You are free to copy-paste this league schedule information (below) to your new HGL Scores Season 1 Official Thread-post, which includes links to your all regular season matches.

After each line (on the table below) add:
A) Names of both teams playing in match, or
B) 'v.' or 'vs.', and name of opposition (for example Trouville BBC, or official abbreviation TRO, if you don't have energy to write the whole name).

In addition you of course need to add box score link to the match after team name(s).
Instructions for that provided here: (326590.42) (close to the end of post, at 'So to your post, link the box score in either way').

Regular Season 1 match days:

RS Round 1: Monday, April 7th, 2025
