Hi everyone, I'm not exactly new because I played this game a couple of seasons ago before deciding to quit and restart. Real-life issues also played apart in that decision as well. But I'm back now and hoping to do better my second time around!

If you have questions, remember to ask on the forums or read the Game Manual. Good luck with your second tenure on BB!

Hey, brand new to the game. I recognize a few names from Hattrick. I'd love some help getting started - IE a mentor. I've read through most of the game manual and read through a thread on the help forum.

If you'd love an additional challenge... give me a shout!

Hey, nice to meet you. If you have any questions about the game, feel free to shoot me a BB-Mail. I've actually played awhile before, so don't let the DV fool you, I went inactive before and only recently returned to the game.

From a glance at your roster, you have a great starting team! First of all, I would cut it down to 12 players, because that's all you really need. The ones you cut are really just scrubs, so go ahead and fire them, they won't sell. Agee, Harman, Whitlock and Ojeda look really good and would be excellent starters. You've also got 2 great trainees in Cooley, but especially in Hawthorne, who I would focus on as he has the most potential.

I would put what you can into the draft, being a new team you can get some good players to build up your team with, or someone who can sell and get you a few quick bucks. Speaking of which, I would invest most of your money into expanding your arena, you're gonna need it when you start winning. :-)

Finally, I would encourage you to sign up at the offsite: http://s3.zetaboards.com/BuzzerBeater_USA_NT/index/. The best managers in America meet here and discuss NT tactics and are willing to help you out and give you advice. It's a great way to get active in the community. Hope you enjoy your stay in BB and I look forward to seeing you around soon!

welcome to the game. yes, encouraage you to join the O Site, been quiet for a minute sometimes :p

also, as said, put that cash in the arena ASAP.

Don't play around with vets or anything, wait until the offseason starts (in about 3 weeks) to start making moves. But for now, pump that arena to 6k.....or higher if you have the cash to splash with.

Train Hawthorne in his weakest outside skills. If he is pretty balanced, just train Pressure for PG and place him for PG every game until the Off Season. After that, you can hit us back on skills and everything......

PS: just to mention a friend of mine is in that league :p (SouthsideRenegades) so now you have a leaguemate for the time being

I, for one, welcome our new buggy-riding overlords.

The advice here is solid so far. I'll just echo that you want to put as much money as possible into upgrading the arena (unlike HT, there's no maintenance!) and to try to prioritize the more expensive seats rather than building a ton of bleachers. Also try not to spend too much money on veterans - look for guys with good skill sets and nice secondary skills (my TL search for big men was roughly ID > 9, handling, passing > 6 and OD > 5).

If you want a mentor to teach you some of the basic tactics, you can jump on AIM and hit me up at staryfurysk when i'm on, typically i can give immediate feedback there.

Here is a list of guys on your team that you should just cut before the next economic phase hits. This list is going to be guys that have ZERO market value, and likely have zero value getting minutes on your team any time soon for any purposes (training or otherwise):

Rick Williams, Tony Biddle, Tony Wyman, Mikey Stevens, Chas Bopp, & David Harding. That'll get you down to 11 guys. The ideal game that your team starts should be 8-9, most people keep at least 10 and sometimes 11 on their team.

Unlike the previous bit of advice by aradrad, i'd look to TL John Harmon almost immediately. the letters MVP carry a lot more merit on the TL than they should, and you could probably get a free 30-40k for him. You'll probably find a better player than him for less than what you get on the TL.

Lee hawthorne is the only player long term on your team that i might be interested in keeping. I'd need you to AIM me, PM me, or post his ratings here for me to be able to tell you whether or not he's worth your time. Everyone else can either find a bench role down the road or eventually get TL'd or Cut.

i bet I can lol

though let me help you with getting the game started.

1. BUILD YOUR ARENA

I think building these seats will help you out: 300 bleach, 50 lower tier, 25 courtside, and 2 luxury boxes. The arena is the foundation of your income in Buzzerebeater. So build build build!

2. Cut people

Well, every new team has sucky players, so I sugest cutting these 6 players beore the Monday financial update when you have to pay their sorry salaries.

Terrance Graf
Mick Jarrett
Gary Schroeder
Caleb Jones
Nick Coleman
Ricky Hemphill

cut those players, they reduce your team otal salary and put you in a better financial footing.

3Set your lineup

there's a game in like, 7 hours so I think you should start thinking about a lineup. I think (for me) this is the best lineup you should use:

Starters

PG: Alan Bleasdale
SG: Branden Mahoney (another is better, but I will discuss why Mahoney is better later)
SF: Cole Watkins (best player on yor team period
PF: Anthony Marselus
C: Chad Gill

bakups you can do whatever you want :p test out the set lineup thingy.....now for the SG.......

4. Train

well, you only got on serviceable trainee right now, and that is MVP potential Branden Mahoney. He is your best trainee and you should train him. To do that, put him in starting lineup evry game, starting him. then train OD for him the rest of the season (since there's basically no weeks left) so then you can have him a more productive player in the future.

I think these are some steps for now, more will come later when offseason starts. 1 more thing

I encourage you to join the USA Offsite: (http://s3.zetaboards.com/BuzzerBeater_USA_NT/index/)

where all the USA's best managers (and some newbies) go to discuss Nation Team (NT) Youth 21 National Team (U21 NT) and discuss things about your team, topics in the real world, etc. It's really fun.

hope this helps

PS: You will have a 50k boosting in your income for the 1st four weeks of your BB career, and you will not have to pay the salary floor either for 16 weeks.

If you register for the Offsite, you have to BB-Mail Mod-jfarb, Coco or wozzvt so they can approve your account. Oh, and for he rest of you users who aren't in the USA, don't try to register. The Mods on the Offsite can see your IPs.
