O[...]I don't agree with the level of detail around times - when we play Consolation Cup with the National teams Australia's games are ALWAYS played hours before everyone else and each round is stretched across almost the full 24-hour spread and yet it seems to work just fine.
Your thorough response would deserve even longer response, but I'll just say in here that this has been discussed in lengthy manner (yes, mostly by me) in Homegrown teams II-thread. Forums are useless for us non-supporters when needing to find information later on, so I can't (won't) now link my older posts here. But I assure you there are many benefits on playing on the same time (and 1 hour tolerance is already accepted, especially if it's not done on purpose). I can't even recall all reasons what I could come up with why it's beneficial to do it this way, but like I said, it's all been said on the forum if one wants to read it.
It's really long subject anyway... And match times will never be good to all, as we reside on the edges of the world so to speak. So at least 50% of matches would be at lousy times anyways (and we would have to change the volunteering challenge system used now, to balance that, or then for other teams it could be like 85% bad times), now you at least:
A) know which time of day it will take place, and
B) scores will be available sooner, and
C) it creates standard for league,
D) results of (especially playoff) matches aren't available before other matches have even started, and
E) most importantly you can not decide to use other PU match result later on as matches happen at the same time (theoretically it would also be possible for Commissioner to verify each match time and number separately, but given the amount of work included already now, I'm not sure I need any added layer of complexity due to that - spent hours and hours already this time to check everything out).
