Well if you look around some "new players" it seems to me that the potential is really important for center and PF, in other positions you can build a great player with potential all star so imho the quality of the draftee should be based on the skills instead of potential or skills + potential.

In your league, there are some good potential draftees: (perennial allstar or above)

I agree with your point. But what I am really concerned about is the lesser role of scouting and drafting to a team's success. If the chance of getting a great player or at least a player that can help the team in the long run is so low, why should I still invest in scouting? Probably the money spent on scouting is more than that on buying 3 decent allstar trainees. This makes the game less appealing. Draft is no longer a way of investment. Either you train your player hard for a few seasons, if not you'll get little back from your drafting, even though your draftee is not bad.

And as I have mentioned, I know that for some smaller nations (I'm not talking about Bahamas but bigger ones like Singapore and Malaysia), the decrease in the number of good draftees causes real trouble. The effect will start to appear in 2-3 seasons.

Thanks. But good potential draftee is not equal to good draftee. A pern. allstar draftee with $2XXX salary (which means multiple pitiful or awful) is hardly trainable. There are only about 2 18yo draftees with $4XXX salary and star potential or above. There is indeed a $5XXX 18yo, but he is a bench warmer. I believe such situations happen in many leagues.

true dat. In my league there was only 1 good draftee and it was a SG or something, 2nd best was a SS with 2.5k salary who went to a bot........their best was a all star -_- draft are becoming meaningless cause in my two drafts if you add up all salaries combined it matches the salary of 16k.........just stupid...........I have had the biggest salary come out of a role player then my best dratee ever is 19 (didn't interveiw) so yeah it sux........if only he was 18 I'd be stoked..........but he's not and I hate him he's on the TL for a dollar now.........doesn't sell you hitting the sack JJ..........man it's terrible to see that last season there were 3 HoF guys in my draft......this season only 1 of them, then other stupid things and so forth......so yeah draft is getting stupider day by day...

Above all when, as every season I write here, some teams are getting millions randomly

So how do you know if this is the case or not with these players? You can't assume these are bad prospects when you can't see them, right? You have decided that it was a bad draft and that drafts are getting worse looking at the exact same information everyone else is looking at. A point which I think you are making, incorrectly, based on a very minute sample size anyways.

I've spent 0$ on scouting and ended up with this player:

Wally Brubaker (26456358) Power Forward

Weekly salary: $ 4 641
Role: draws a paycheck
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 0
Age: 19
Height: 6'5" / 196 cm
Potential: superstar
Game Shape: respectable
Jump Shot: mediocre Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: inept Handling: inept
Driving: awful Passing: average
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: inept Free Throw: pitiful

Experience: atrocious

I'm extremely happy with that pick and dare say most of us have had a nice draft in Australia.

It's not only about potential, salary and age. It's about what you can make out of them.

There are also some back up players that are more valuable than NT starters.
