Just wanted to personally congratulate Rip City!

Dude's team is amazing and that game last night had me sweating! Had he had home court advantage OR had his two highest salaried players be better than a 7 for game shape, he would have wiped me out easily. This team has truly mastered salary-efficiency - I really don't know how he does it.

Well, the season is almost over, and I wanted to give a shoutout to everybody involved. I know it's still early, and normally I'd do this type of thing after the post-season, but then some of y'all will move on to different leagues and not stick around to chat. So here are my final impressions:

1. Shoutout to everybody who participated in the forum. No joke, even one post on here makes playing in this league so much more fun!

2. I learned more these past two seasons in DII with y'all about how the game engine works (especially this last season) than I have in all of the other seasons combined (since season 35 :/). Thank you for making every game competitive enough to make me explore new tactics and try new ideas. Thank you for using ideas on your own team that I would have never thought possible.

A few notable mentions from my season (and if you have your own, I welcome you to share them):

1. To Desert Eagles, you as a manager have made this season very fun. For most of the season, I considered you my own true competition for the great 8 champion. It was a pleasure battling against you (after the first game that you got smacked) and even more of a pleasure seeing you on the forum

2. To New York Dragons, your team taught me the true power of reverse patient. It's a good thing I'll never know Jason Kendrick's offensive stats, since in my mind he's just 20's across the board.

3. To RiP City, I've always considered you my biggest rival since getting here. I know I say this a lot, but I still cannot believe you are so good at that salary level. Like I literally pride myself on salary efficiency and I am like 50% as salary as efficient as your team is - it boggles my mind! I feel like out of all teams I wish I could learn the most from by seeing their builds, your team is the one I would want to do it most from.

4. To Diorite Pistons, you were the first manager here to welcome me to the league and I actually really appreciate that. We had great battles. You taught me going 2-3 zone against a motion offense will yield 124 points lmao

5. To Gremlins: You were the first team to beat me this season when I thought I was indestructible. Granted, one of my best players was injured and you put in more effort, but I will always hate you for that. I was seriously considering dumping more money into my team and getting a level 7 doctor after that lmao

6. To Tucumcari Whalers, thank heavens you decided to tank bro lmaooo. Like I said, I came into this season thinking I was indestructibly and then my very first game against you I win by a measly 2 points! Would've been hell going up against those amazing players you sold earlier this season. Best of luck - I'm sure we'll be seeing you again in no time.

7. To Columbus Comets, thank you for falling into my trap. Dude hasn't played Low Post all season and then decides to experiment with it in the finals (presumably because you thought I'd GDP fast?). Either way, I am excited for this finals matchup, win or lose! You're definitely in my head and I don't recall ever feeling like my small tactical decisions would make such an impact as it does this matchup.

8. To Arizona Cacti, teach me your ways for how your arena makes so much more money than mine does when you didn't get the promotion bonus like some of these other teams that make a ton more money than I do. I know this sounds joing but I'm serious - DM me the secrets and I'll say some things that I think I learnt (though admittedly you have a ton more NBBA experience than I do so I probably can't tell you anything you don't already know).

9. To Archers of Loafcross, you are the only team this season that I played when I was at full strength and thought I deserved to lose to.

10. To The Coolness Factor, man I don't know why your team doesn't perform better based on the game ratings. Hopefully that's not offensive.

11. To Bluegrass Nationals, our games have been very forgettable. Hopefully that is offensive.

12. To Southpoint, what kind of team, with home court advantage, decides to CT against the best team in the league (granted with an injured player). Way to kick me when I was down and literally possibly cost me promotion due to this extra random loss. Like you don't even normal some teams you could actually beat and then you randomly CT me? One day I hope to ruin your BB dreams.

13. To Puff Puff Pass, a team as good as yours has no reason to have such a poor record two seasons in a row

14. To WHAIGH, I always got scared of your team based on game ratings, despite your terrible record.

I know this post comes off as a little condescending, and almost feels like me saying goodbye when I haven't won anything yet. I didn't intend for that but since nobody is reading this anyway, just know that the only time I'll ever see one of you again is if you manage to make it to DI. And knowing y'all , that means goodbye forever *mic drop*

Sooo… this was the most passive-agressive, funniest, flattering, angering, offensive, and overall confusing forum post I think I’ve ever seen 😂😂.

Idk how to feel but I guess I’m glad mine was more positive than anything! I agree though. This is my second stint in d2, and I’ve learned a lot about what it will take to make the next level and how to restructure my team for my next “run”. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get out of d2 this time around, but Lugo and Aguirre will just chill in d2 if that’s what happens!

Lugo NT is the real dream!

Trog…. I will be seeing you again sometime!

Also, @ Arizona Cacti ditto on the arena thing… wtf is your secret!

Keeping an underpowered homegrown team safe from demotion in league 2 requires grabbing wins where you can, getting training in every week, keeping game shape high enough to punch above your weight, and to not play hero ball against teams with much larger salaries looking to promote. Thanks for keeping the forum popping this season, and thanks for the mention!

I must be a dunce because I didn't even realize you were doing the homegrown team thing (whew)

Even getting to D2 as a homegrown team is a major accomplishment, let alone remaining competitive in one of the hardest seasons I've seen! I wish I wrote what you wrote instead of the half-witted joke I made

New York Dragons are homegrown as well, I just have not been as fortunate in the drafts, nor been able to build a Kendrick type. Best of luck to those moving both up and down next season, and thanks for bringing some fire to the boards coach Trog! I readily admit when I played you it was indeed forgettable… all true.

Outstanding post. I despise any team playing CT before the playoffs so I feel your pain. Good luck going forward. I'm going to concentrate on either a 4 out one inside style, or ensuring that every player on my team can make a frickin driving layup.
