Now you are talking. Get rid of the chat box and replace with dozens of icons that you can place on the hardwood however you like. A stage, stripper poles, girls, pimps bartenders. Create your own little scene. Some dude with the t shirt cannon launching wadded up T's into the audience at 104 mph. Beer vendor dumping his wares all over Billy Crystal. The possibilities are endless. This could even bring about merchandise reform. By watching your game and taking a hands on approach you could actually increase your merchandising by a nominal percent each week. Something small but enough to get people to log into the site more often than they do. That increases hits on the site which helps advertising sales.

I have always viewed merchandising as an untapped form of entertainment. I enjoy being a tight wad owner with a low team salary. It's easy to win with great players but tough with my merry band of clowns. Instead I think merchandising reform to put more some control in the owners hands instead of the completly random way it operates now. My team is from southwest Missouri. Do you think the fans care if I have Americans on the roster? Why would they care if Rodrigo Lopez is on the team when my fans can't spell Smith? Take the draft for instance. 3 players out of the 48 should be local guys that you can see their complete bio. Totally random and can be a total door knob for all I care but you draft local plumber Billy Bob Johnson's incestial son who happens to be the local high schools all time leading scorer but still really stinks he puts few fans in the seats for you. Instead of 95% of third round picks getting cut you have people trying to draft their local products for merchandising. Why doesn't a larger arena bring in more merchandise than a smaller one? Teams with larger arenas that charge less for tickets make about the same as teams with smaller arenas that charge more but get no added merch each week? Are we selling the additional tickets for food stamps? I believe in Missouri food stamps can be used on beer so my merch should be higher. Random thoughts, this beer is gone. I need another.

I really like this thread, I'm all for not cutting the pauses but adding some "widgets" or information about the game / players / etc...

To add onto this, it would be nice if we could customize merchandizing. Set popcorn prices, etc., and while this probably should go in a new thread it's just a glancing idea.

Maybe they could show the best performances from around BB. You could show the best performances in your game, the best in the League, the best in the country, and the best in the world. That could waste some time.

I like that, especially the best performances in your league!
