Speaking of development stages of HG teams...
One of the interesting things to compare, would be the average ages of players (of a team) that are in Top 5 (or Top 8, if we want it to be in reflection with Top8 players salaries), and on the other hand average age of players ranked from 6th to 12th (or from 9th to 12th).

It might provide us interesting background information on a stage team is currently in. Again, this is an additional layer of work and I'm not going to promise I'll get it done, but I wanted to throw it out for you guys to comment on.

I have deleted my schedule post in the Season 1 thread, I will repost the new schedule along with each teams link (for easy access to their team page) on that thread when I get to a desktop (at church now) will be this afternoon (5 or 6 hours)

Adding team links makes organizing matches easier, and that's why I planned to add them to "teams participating" lists (likely today).
That's also one of the reasons why I added 'participating teams list' above the schedule (on HGL Scores-thread), so direct links could then be used from that above post to access each teams page when organizing matches.

I will add the Season 1 schedule likely to the 4th and/or 5th post of HGL Scores-thread based on schedule auto-created by MrJ (after we have reached a conclusion on how to mark a team responsible for sending challenge, unless we get 8 volunteers after which we can just announce and mark those teams responsible to the schedule without exceptions), but I will not include such links to team pages to my aforementioned post as my main post is meant only for schedule and possibly for adding scores/box score links of games. Speaking of which, isn't it so that Pickup match numbers are only released to managers after match has started? If match numbers already known before (somehow, I don't know if this would be possible), then links to full season worth of matches could be created beforehand (after match invitation would be accepted), and added to official schedule post.

You're welcome, and you're welcome to the league as well! :) It's great to get a team from South America as well, and after this The Americas has even stronger representation in the HGL!

We are only missing a team from Asia (any Asian team possibly interested in joining HGL starting from Season 2?), and then we'd have teams participating from most parts of the world. Anyway, it is truly international league, so in that sense MrJs' suggestion for a league name (International Home-Grown League, IHGL) nailed the spirit of the league!

I think your thinking is correct regarding 8 volunteers...this should cover all games. I have about 20 tokens at the moment so I am happy to be another volunteer other than yourself. However...

Maybe the better approach is to have 1 team in every matchup (bolded name or something to identify that it is their responsibility to organise the PU) and then, any mangers (like you or myself) who wish to make it known that they are happy to organise every one of their games and use their tokens, then we could just alter the schedule and bold that team's name for every match?

We have options. I guess it boils down to:

1. How quickly can we organise 8 managers willing to volunteer their tokens and organise all of their matches?
2. Failing that, we would simply have to make it equitable and have every team bolded equally and equally responsible for setting games when it is their turn.

I know I said it wasnt' mentioned anywhere who is responsible for sending challenge, but re-reading what I had earlier written on the new official HGL thread, I found this. It partly answers to the (current way of) how to handle situation-dilemma - however, we can change it easily if we find 5 more voluntary managers to use 7-8 extra tokens for the Season 1 regular season!?

This is the text found from an informative post of mine, sent 12.3.2025:

- One team is always responsible for sending the PU game challenge, and it is either bolded or marked another way (such as with #) to a league schedule, so team with that marking besides their team name abbreviation knows it's their responsibility to send a challenge for that match.

If needed, I/we can also send BBMail to other (13?) managers to see if 5 of them would have 8 extra tokens to spare.

I mean in one sense it would/could be more simple, if there would be similar amount of pre-determined organizers, and on the other hand similar amount of those who just need to accept those challenges sent to them. If we find ways to simplify things (without sacrificing otherwise important things, such as rules etc.), it's only beneficial in the long run.

We have already 5 and need only 3 more managers to volunteer (of spending 8 extra tokens for the first season of HGL), if I could conclude from your response, Moneta, that you'd be willing to be one of the volunteers?

I dont know much about PU Games, can we schedule multiple pickup games at a time? Or do we have to wait till one is over to schedule it?

Like, could I go ahead and send out all my invites now, so I dont have to worry about it in the future?

Exactly, that is very important. Communication is the key for most things in life, and if communication between the coaches could be ensured, then a lot of 'the official communication' wouldn't be as essential (as things/issues would get worked out anyway).
Having said that, there's often a reason behind certain rules/guidelines (not all the reasons are explained in rules/information-section, as articles are long enough), so 'official voice' of the league has also it's own meaning too.
I'll try (and have tried) to form a relatively comprehensive information package for current and future managers on those official threads, keep official threads/information organized in certain way for continuity and ease of use, and keep on providing support/opinions/decisions if and when need arises.

But it's certainly great to have a community here in where also other managers are active, and probably some of you guys visit Buzzerbeater even more often than myself, which helps us as a community to resolve problematic situations faced by a single user a lot quicker (should they contact through HG threads).
