What about some lines that recognize the importance of a match?

eg
Commentary Line: Thats 10 points to the good with under 2minutes to go, has that secured their place in the final 4?
Trigger: Scored points to trigger assumed unassailable lead.
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Biased

Plenty of variations of these for different comps and stages etc.

Commentary Line: "Rejected and collected!"
Trigger: Player blocks and take ball.
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Tactical

Commentary Line: If Team X can come up with a win in this game they will secure themselve's a playoff spot!
Trigger: Team plays and can clinch if they win.
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Biased.

Commentary Line: Get him some crutches! Broken ankles for defensive player x.

Commentary Line: Defensive Player X with the the finger wag, "not in my lane" he says,

Commentary Line: Defensive player x has offensive player y in a straight jacket
Possible Trigger: A Forced Bad Shot

Commentary Line: Player x with a touch of magic. What a beautiful no look pass!
Possible Trigger: An assist
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Biased

Commentary Line: A Tim Hardaway-esque cross over leaves defensive player x wondering what just happened!
Possible Trigger: A drive to the basket

Commentary Line: Get a TO baby!

Commentary Line: The only thing uglier than that shot is Pete's mom. Have you seen his mom? Rather difficult to look at without being obvious.
Possible Trigger: Pete clanging one off the rim

Commentary Line: Your mother is an astronaut
Possible Trigger: Your mother actually being an astronaut or a form of trash talking among the announcers
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Neutral (zero antagonizing required)

Commentary Line: And he delivers a facial!
Possible Trigger: Dunk in traffic (must have a salute to Marv Albert)
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: biased

Commentary Line: YES! And it counts!
Possible Trigger: Being fouled on a jump shot and making the shot (another salute to Marv)

Commentary Line: I could really sink my teeth into the woman in Section C Row 4 seat 116
Possible Trigger: Hot mom in said seat (final salute to the immortal Marv Albert)
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Sensually biased

Commentary Line: Cracker Jack Timing Wang!
Possible Trigger: A Wang being involved in the game (not required but it would add to the drama)
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Tactless

I feel we need some culturally inclusive commentary as well.

Commentary Line: Goooooaaaaaallllll
Possible Trigger: A basket by an Argentinian or Brazilian player
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Would have to be biased...towards soccer

Commentary Line: The coach looks less than pleased.
Possible Trigger: Any time an Israeli team takes a time out. (see movie keeping the faith for reference.)
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Again, pretty biased. Although I am not ruling tactical out of the question.

Commentary Line: This proves white men can't jump.
Possible Trigger: Missed dunk attempt by any white player
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Considering there has never been a caucasian slam dunk champ, i am going with neutral.

Commentary Line: Holy Frijoles!
Possible Trigger:A great play by any spanish or mexican born player
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Tactical

Commentary Line: So much for being neutral
Possible Trigger: A block shot by any Swiss born players
Tactical/Neutral/Biased:Anything but Neutral

Commentary Line:What comes after X and Y? Z!!!!
Possible Trigger:Any dunk by a player whose first name is hard to pronounce and starts with a Z
Tactical/Neutral/Biased:Considering I own one, I am going to go for Biased again on this one. I just want to see that commentary.

Commentary Line:The mustard is off the hot dog with that one
Possible Trigger:A great pass by a player on any team with Lakers in the title (A salute to Chick Hearn)
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: I am a Laker fan so this is biased.

Commentary Line: Hand me a Molson, eh?
Possible Trigger: Anytime a Canadian player hits a shot with the lead over 20 points in the 4th qtr. I know this could potentially happen a lot in canadian league games but at least I didn't use a line from the movie slap shot like I was tempted to. So to my canadian friends you can always rest easy with that thought. And well I really like beer.
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Very Tactical

Commentary Line: No More Irratating!
Possible Trigger: Any great pass by a Serbian born player (reference to old schick razer commercial in which Laker great Vlade Divac used this line. Since Vlade was one of the best passing big men...)
Tactical/Neutral/Biased:Tactical...but sometimes Vlade was very neutral especially on the defensive end. So I am undecided on this one.

Commentary Line: A raging right-hand tomahawk jam from Player X!
Possible Trigger: Any dunk

Commentary Line: Player X handles out top, looking to feed the post.
Possible Trigger: Any extended period of ball handling when on an inside oriented tactic
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Tactical

Commentary Line: Player X went high on his magic carpet to throw that one down!
Possible Trigger: Any finished lob
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Biased

Commentary Line: Player X was all over that rebound like a bad suit.
Possible Trigger: A defensive rebound. Perhaps following the "player X snapped up the defensive rebound". Not sure if there are degrees of rebounding, like a player easily controls it even though it's contested (when one player's skill is vastly superior to his counterpart perhaps)

Commentary Line: Player X took the whole team on that play.
Possible Trigger: Successful unassisted driving layup.

Commentary Line: Player X dumps it in low to Player Z.
Possible Trigger: Entry pass
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Neutral (maybe Biased/tied to tactical focus)

Commentary Line: That was probably not the shot their coach was looking for.
Possible Trigger: Low percentage three-point shooter missing an attempt.
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Biased

Commentary Line: That free throw (or basket) makes it a one (or two/three) possession game.
Possible trigger: Deficit cut or extended to 3 points (or 6 or 9) in the closing 90 seconds or so.
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Neutral

Commentary Line: Quick as a cat on a hot tin roof!
Possible Trigger: Unassisted driving layup
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Biased

Commentary Line: Player X with it on the mid-post (or the block) looking to go to work.
Possible Trigger: Post player preparing to take an unassisted attempt
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Neutral

Commentary Line: Player X has it on the wing. Quick jab step and he makes his move.
Possible Trigger: Perimeter player preparing to take an unassisted attempt
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Neutral

Commentary Line: Too bad the weather is so awfull. I bet the fans would enjoy a walk in the park a lot more then watching this game.
Possible Trigger: first time, after the 30 minute mark, when the leading team scores and is ahead at least 50 points.
Tactical/Neutral/Biased: Biased

Commentary Line: Watching those cheerleaders is sure much more exciting as watching the game!
Possible Trigger: during a full time out where 1 team leads with at least 40 points, and only once in a game (so if it already occured, do not repeat)
