Many thanks also to you guys - Gccsteel, Moneta, T-Lit and Hadár! Now we already have 7 out of possible 13 votes cast, all votes been "1" so far.
We certainly would wish to hear from the rest of participating teams as well, so we´d appreciate if you'd take time to vote, if you're one of those 14 teams participating to homegrown league next season and still haven't voted!
While I certainly don't want to go ahead of things too much (as in optimal situation we can/could wait for each of the votes to be cast before making conclusion), but as we are in a way slightly pressed in time, I think it might soon be the right time for me to start a new forum thread for the new homegrown league. (Unless voting takes a steep turn to another direction of course, but I think it's better to do certain groundwork beforehand anyway to save time in the case you do end up choosing me as a league Commissioner).
I'd have couple of questions though, what becomes to forum threads and forum functionality, as I'm sure you guys are more knowledgeable about certain things in BB.
First, if I start a new forum thread before we have organized an official voting for the league name, can I change the title of forum thread later on or is it set in stone? (If it is, we might be better off organizing the voting for the name first).
Second, as I'm not a supporter and therefore can't create official polls (which could be handy for voting about many aspects of the league), can some of us (who is Supporter) create polls to the forum thread that I have created, or have they had to create the forum thread themselves in order to add a poll into it?
Well, especially if one has had to create forum thread themselves in order to add a poll to it, I can't create such forum thread dedicated to polls (as I'm not supporter), so somebody of us (a Supporter) would need to create it.
If polls can be added by Supporters to a forum thread that was originally started by anyone else, then it's a bit less necessary to have such separate forum thread. But I still think it would serve us well to create a separate forum threads for polls(/voting), box scores and for the league itself (discussion about the league could mainly take place in the league page, and maybe would also include league tables unless they are positioned to box scores forum thread).
I mean I think it's necessary to be able to find for instance box scores (and preferably voting results&/polls) as easily as possible, and it might be best to make such structural decision from day 1. Especially if there will be lots of sent messages, it's going to be very hard to find necessary or beneficial information from the league forum, and as forum search functionality is a Supporter only-feature, it's even harder for us non-Supporters.
That's also one reason why I originally suggested that we'll establish a new forum thread for the homegrown league for each and every season. Think for this Homegrown teams II-forum thread for instance - especially without forum search functionality, it's a total pain for non-Supporters to navigate as there are hundreds of messages. By creating a new thread each year, we'd be able to go back and forth in the messages with (hopefully) decent trouble only, and if we'd want to get back to some discussion we had earlier, it would be enough to remember what season it took place...
On the other hand if we'd take the easy route in the beginning with one forum thread, and end up a thread with 500 messages that will run over several seasons and will include everything related to the league in it, nobody (unless they are Supporters with search functionality), I'm afraid, will have the patience to continuously having to click and roll tens or even hundred times in a row (in order to move to the next page on the thread) if they need/want to access some information or discussion later on.
Anyway, thanks again everyone for your trust and let's see what others think (and vote)!
