Thanks, Jason.

:)

Weird ratings for our game. I won all the team ratings, you won all of the individual matching ratings.

My inside scoring rated much better than your inside D, and my Inside D rated better than your inside scoring, and we had the edge in Rebounding and Flow too. But nothing in the stats, game play, or individual ratings tell that story. Strange game.

Fact is, I would have been okay with an 18 point loss going in....but I didn't like trailing by 30+ at one point....ooooglay!!

Now that the game is officially over I can actually celebrate this win. The boys did it! The big three proved their weight in gold; I finally won a prestigious accolade other than something out of a D-V bot league. I love it.

Even more so, it's especially awesome that I did it with NT greats -- Simmons, Bowens and Hunt; along with my three seasoned trainees; I wouldn't want it any other way. Murca!

Yeah, the lower rating might have something to do with Hunt, Simmons, and Bowen's resting in the 4th quarter -- which was much needed after my previous league game.

Edit: Yo, Jason...thanks for the Supporter! You didn't have to do that you classy guy, you. You're the man.

i got to thinking about the $2.5 million price Reed Purdy sold for.

i bought him from Yuck late in season 27 for $500,000. i figure he was 26 when i bought him, and he was 27 when he very much helped me to a title. but for some reason or another i got mad at him, he never was good enough for the NT, so i never got a merchandise bonus, and was making a bit more than $200,000 a season, which is 25% of a reasonable NBBA team salary level. for these reasons i dumped him -- a 27 year old super guard -- for $780,000.

my rationalization at the time for such a selling price was i figured the purchaser did a mental calculation that balanced the salary with purchasing cost -- something along the lines that the higher the salary, the lower (relatively speaking) the selling price (that a G with 1/2 Purdy's salary would sell for twice as much). i thought this guided a player pricing on the TL for a good long time.

so when i see his selling price at $2.5 million, i don't know what to think. $2.5 million for a 31 yr old, salary adjusted to $194,000, but still hefty, purchased by a non-USA team, so there is little benefit from Purdy's NT status -- huge selling price for an older player and enormous salary.

i don't know where the teams are getting the money because i would guess the revenue levels for this league are a constant and i seem to recall the salary levels for NBBA teams in the past were approximately where they are today. there are probably a number of contributing factors -- training is not cost effective, for example -- but i really am at a loss to explain what has happened.

You are very welcome ;) Couldn't have our USA champ without the ability to put out a press release :-)

Congrats again; you've built quite the powerhouse!
