don't players get more clutch throughout their career though? For example, a Rookie NBA Player (Lebron for example) was less clutch then he is now. He improved through his career, and got better. He's now able to make more clutch shots at more do-or-die situations. Would that just be experience or be clutch?

Would exp and clutchness be linked together or be 2 completly different things? Because EXP can help at end of games as well...

There were examples of NBA players who became less clutch in their careers. Nick "The Brick" Anderson is just one.

Good point. Maybe it's one of those hidden skills.

Let's examine this ... Suppose there were a hidden "clutch" skill ... Under the current substitution system, how would you assure your clutch players were in toward the end of the game? Totally Let the Coach Decide? And if you totally let the coach decide, how do you keep the skill hidden? And though we're new to the game, it sems to us already that Experience acts like that, at least a little, doesn't it?

Why is this clutch skill only for late game shooting?

Why not say you go on an 8-0 scoring run my "clutch" player locks down defensively makes a big stop or forces a turnover and starts a run for my team?

Or grabbing clutch rebounds....
Or hitting important fts.

Clutch has more application than 3 pt shot alone

I actually really like this idea. +1

And if potential can be a visible stat, then clutch surely can be, too.
