A letter to the Rockets

Dear Dearl Morey,

Please, if yall see you can't make the playoffs, just tank to get a great draft pick please, while keeping Scola and Dragic too. Also it'd be awesome if you get Dwight Howard and Deron Williams here. Butit's a fat chance. So if you do look for other people, look for Terry and Gasol please

Sincerly, tough

I agree with Todd. I don't think the Bobcats were actually tanking, because they had the same chance at the first pick at 7-59 as they did at 19-47, so the fact that they were last in the standings by so many games would not make sense if they were trying to get a better position in the lottery. The real tankers this season were the Warriors. They traded away their best player (Monta Ellis), a developing young big man that can eventually be a starter (Epke Udoh), and Kwame Brown (Not completely useless but not worth much), for Andrew Bogut (Injured for the rest of the season already) and Stephen Jackson, who was immediately traded to the Spurs for an aging Richard Jefferson and a draft pick. Before the trade, they had a slim chance at making the playoffs at 17-21, but after the trade, they finished the season by going 6-22.

As a Bucks fan I loved that trade.

I just want the Rockets to make the PO this year, and get to the 2nd round for the first time since Yao Ming was here. Where's Hakeem Olajuwon? Can he still play BBall?

PS You know, every 36+ yr old goes to the Raptors.......this year it may be Ray Allen.....

Gasol would just be wasting his time here, and Olajuwon has to be 45+...

Honestly, I don't think they tanked this season. That franchise has been plagued with personnel and staff issues from the beginning. This past season was the end result of years of poor management IMO.

As a season ticket holder from the beginning, I can tell you that they tanked. It infected the entire team. Most nights they played with no heart and no will.

Yes, they've had issues and yes, they had poor management but one does not preclude the other from being true. Paul Silas was a babysitter last season. His job was to do nothing more than make sure they had the worst record in the league. He was pretty effective.
