I agree with Todd. I don't think the Bobcats were actually tanking, because they had the same chance at the first pick at 7-59 as they did at 19-47, so the fact that they were last in the standings by so many games would not make sense if they were trying to get a better position in the lottery. The real tankers this season were the Warriors. They traded away their best player (Monta Ellis), a developing young big man that can eventually be a starter (Epke Udoh), and Kwame Brown (Not completely useless but not worth much), for Andrew Bogut (Injured for the rest of the season already) and Stephen Jackson, who was immediately traded to the Spurs for an aging Richard Jefferson and a draft pick. Before the trade, they had a slim chance at making the playoffs at 17-21, but after the trade, they finished the season by going 6-22.
Honestly, I don't think they tanked this season. That franchise has been plagued with personnel and staff issues from the beginning. This past season was the end result of years of poor management IMO.
