Marin,

Thanks for all the work you've put into the game, and the improved community outreach. I really think all the changes that have been made are for the better. However, this is one change that I cannot support as it's currently proposed.

The main issues revolve around NT players and prospects. Currently, the best way to help your NT is to train your own nation's players. Since there's a restriction on this for second teams (which I agree is needed), what is the best way to help your NT now? Since second teams can't make the B3, what is the incentive to have this second team win? And no offense to Bermuda, but I doubt the goal of winning a Bermuda league title is going to be so enticing to prevent some of the actions listed below. There are several countries in this game where you can sit comfortably in D1 or D2 and bank a lot of money. Here are some things these players are allowed to do:

1. Firing players - Last season, a Canadian team was created, bought one of our NT players (12460055), and immediately fired him. Since no one was willing to play 1mil for this guy, he was retired. The Canadian team never logged in again. This is not a huge issue for the USA or other large country national teams, but smaller countries rely on players that won't sell for 1mil.

2. Buying prospects - Save up some money and buy another nations best prospects. Every season you could save up enough money to buy the best 18 year old of a country. I don't see a plausible restriction to prevent this.

3. Buy and sell opponents NT players to get a GS hit before important matches.

4. Draft - In a large country, just tank and scoop up the best prospects. I can't see a good restriction to differentiate between this being a competitive strategy to actually train another NT player, or a strategy to remove a prospect from the pool.

I wouldn't do any of this, but as we can see with the Canadian manager, there are people who would. Even if 99% of people play fair, it still could be a problem. A coordinated effort by 3-4 people sitting in micro nation D1 leagues around the world could pretty much ruin any nation's NT by just buying and firing/transferring current NT players, or ruining prospects. And since it's so close at the top levels, one person could have enough of an affect to change the outcome of the worlds tournament.

I feel creating a "BB nation" with it's own set of players, market, and teams would be the best course if action here, especially if you allow people to purchase the feature, without supporter, for a lower cost than supporter. Teams in micronations could join and get the competitiveness they're looking for without having their nation invaded by Americans (in BB - can't comment on our foreign policy). Even teams that are in large countries could welcome the extra challenge of getting to D1 in the "BB Nation." You could fill 5 leagues with 5456 teams, or about 17% of the current users. How many competitive D5 leagues are there currently? Wouldn't that be fun?

The "BB Nation" would, I think, hit all 4 of the pros you mentioned in the second post, and be much better for the "reduce cheating" one. It would solve the first and 3rd cons listed, and I don't think the second one is really a con.

Sorry for the length of this post, but I think this idea is better than the current proposal. Thanks again for all your hard work.

This only works in theory.

I don't wanna be a supporter because of that.

Fix the trainning and I (and others) could be a supporter.
Or supporters having more ways to trainning more players.

I see a lot of people suggesting the one time fee for a second team but this just results in a very short term solution. I feel that most people that wish to buy a second team would do so right away. An influx of money all at once might make things a little better for now but will not help with true longevity.

The extra teams might eventually cause the need of an extra server or something else which could cause it to lose money in the long run.

In order for the extra team idea to make sense it needs to be a consistent revenue source. Perhaps supporters get it for free and non-supporters pay $5 per season to keep the team. This would cost someone $20 a year for a second team, or half the supporter cost for that year.

I think a new poll needs to be made. For anyone that is a current non-supporter, would the option to have a second team convince you to become a supporter? If only current supporters have second teams then all of this is for nothing.

Also Utopia Country is the best way to go, but I think it should be on the same server as the current game. They should be able to compete in cups and B3 but the forumlas that pick matchups need to account for your own teams not playing each other.

This is not possible - NT players cannot be fired
Besides these players are a dying breed, teams pick them up without knowing they can't fire them.
And new times are no longer allowed to buy such players
The guy sold for under $60k - If he was so important to the U.S. why didn't some patriotic American owner buy him for $70K?
Because he's useless and only serves to prop up NT, these guys NEED to be done away with

Here is something to think about for all.

First, as mentioned, a one time fee leads to a very short term help financially. BB needs a residual income that they will see repeatedly.

Here is what I suggest be done:

Use a completely different site for the second teams. This site will run on the same exact game engine as the current one but would keep all cheating away. Also, it could either be linked to supporter on this site or it could be a pay-to-play site where it would be a little fee for each season played (this could be changed). This site will then be used to test further developments for buzzerbeater before it hits this site. This would allow for testing in competitive games and further discussions to help in the development of the game as well as involve the community even more. So if you want to truly help BB you can pay and have a say. There will still be leagues and national teams on this site just like the one now too.

This option not only gives people their second team, but also helps in the development of BB even more because they will make more money from those wanting another team, as well as everyone helping in the development and changes in the game.

Obviously, he wasn't on the NT at the time. And yes, an American owned would have bought him for 70k if he knew he was gonna be sabotaged by a Canadian team. How are we supposed to know that? Then he sells for 1 mil in the offseason. He was something like this:

10/7/6/7/8/7 - 16/18/20/8

There are a lot of NT's that could use that player. Again, not a big deal for the USA, but there are a lot of players like this on other national teams. I'm sorry you think he's useless and needs to be "done away with" but a lot of national teams would disagree.

I thought the supporter package does not give an advantage over a team that does not have one.
Idea, not solves the problem of outflow users . its not about the game its about the money.

A Supporter team has no advantage against a non-supporter team in the game itself. No strategic- or tactical advantage at any point, but the supporter package gives you some extra functions like federations, privat-leagues etc.

A second team would be a extra function.
