Extra scrimmage would work I think.

I sitll think the advantage playoff teams get is too big. An extra scrimmage will help but it won't in bringing in money. For example, I made the playoffs and lost in the first round. The past 2 weeks I have lost almost 100k and it would have been had it not been my one playoff game being at home. I agree there should be some rewards for making the playoffs but 2 weeks with no income is a bit too much. That doesn't even include the offseason so in the end teams could end up going 3 weeks without making any money. 3 weeks of losing a good amount of money each week. After the draft when teams begin to put players on the TL, how can they expect to compete with bids from playoff teams? I think either make the scrimmage bring in income or maybe raise revenue.

another possibility is that like real sports, that players don't get paid more for making the playoffs.. and that salaries should stop being paid for the playoffs. Also I think it was the case that we balanced the cost/revenue without thinking about those weeks that people didn't have revenue... so maybe revenue needs a bump across the board. On the other hand I don't think 3,2,1 extra weeks out of 20 is really an unreasonable advantage... remember only 2 teams are getting 3 weeks, 2 others getting 2, and 4 getting 1. Most of the league is in the same boat... so although I'm sure it looks nasty to your bottom line it really is prety much the same across the board. Now of course you didn't really anticipate this cash flow problem was going to come up .. and that's really what you are reacting too i think. You want to be able to look at your weekly revenue/expenses and know if you are under/over budget. I think that's a reasonable request and we should brainstorm for ways to make that happen.

One way is to make playoff salaries free. So rather than the benefit being they get income and expenses.. and you get expenses, its they get income and neither of you get expenses. Course then you need to deal with people trying to just buy players for the playoffs etc. having a transfer deadline might not be a bad idea.. just like the NBA and most other american sports.

I like the idea, but maybe it would be more realistic to normalize the wages by the number of weeks in the regular season divided by the total number of weeks (salary * 22 / 25), instead of "free playoff wages".

well sure that would be part of it.. except i don't know if we normalized the economy by the total revenue/expenses or whether we did it week by week. If it was the latter than not normalizing would correct for that issue.

no more official games for the people out of the playoffs, but what about the guys playing for the title without getting payed??

but anyway, for me it's fine either way.
