If there is growth in the offseason, expect it to be because some clever multiaccounters are opening teams to harvest the draft...

I expect a faster decline, just because the small countries become too small to still enjoy, Pakistan will be the first country to vanish, a few other might follow soon.

But hey, we get the arcade engine next season, thats something to cheer about. YOLO!

Wow....That was fast....It took 5 months for BB to go from 43,117 to 39,988. Now it only took 3 weeks to go from 40K to 38.5K.....Yikes.

They should probably get rid of the "The world of BuzzerBeater is continually growing." sentence on the community page. Funny how that's the only sentence in bold too.

Well, but they *are* growing, when the data is filtered in certain ways. For example, every week the cumulative number of people who have ever signed up for the game has increased, so in terms of the number of people "touched" by BB at some point in the site's lifespan, it's growing. And if they account for new users after processing the removal of former users, it's definitely growing, with periodic episodes of account management reducing the numbers. ;)

You forgot to apply the duplicate account multiplier It use to be .8934 but Joe Ka hasnt' updated it in awhile. You could use Wolph's estimate of .2783 which is a bit suspect but it's something.

Are we still planning on eventually letting Wolph know that this was just a social experiment and that other than him, it's just the two of us running the other ~38k "teams?"

Just curious: Is there an easy way to see which countries are experiencing the highest rate of user turnover?

You got it. I'm referring to teams going bot due to managers dropping out of the league. The reason I ask is that if we could pinpoint the countries with the biggest drops in managers, we may gain some insight into what's going on with our decline in users over the past year. If it's primarily focused in the smaller (micro) nations, it may have more to do with the issues everyone is bringing up about micro nations starting teams in Div I or Div II, but if it's an even turnover percentage across the board, then it is safe to assume there is something larger going on driving people away. On the flip side, if there are some countries with increasing user bases, it wouldn't hurt to reach out to those managers and see if someone has successfully launched a social media campaign.

But it sounds like we can't really check into it since the data can't be broken out that way.
