Yes an extra 40k, hence the dollar for dollar tax.

Just match it. But keep in mind you would have resources tied up in players and not just disposable cash sitting in your bank waiting for you to make your big move.

That's a good point. Without a roster size limit, it wouldn't work.

If the BBs want to further discourage tanking, increasing the salary floor is the best and most fool-proof approach. Salary floor is already calculated differently for each league so if they don't want to hurt newer teams they can just increase the salary floor for higher divisions.

As you acknowledge, if your goal is to make money, you don't benefit from being under the salary floor, so in essence a salary floor sets the baseline level of competition. I think a concern Lemonshine has is he thinks the profit difference between playing at the salary floor and tanking is insignificant. In my experience this is untrue. In Div 1, I made about 100k more per week when I had a roster just above the salary floor and made the playoffs(13-9 record) as opposed to when I went 0-22 and tanked. Another thing to consider is that the team who plays at the salary floor will probably be able to remain in the league and continue to be able to make the same amount of money, while the tanking team demotes into a lower league where they will make less money, so in the long run the salary floor team far outstrips the tanker in terms of profits.

A big reason why I am against the other proposed anti-tanking measures, such as changing the fan survey or lowering gate receipts, is that they seem to punish poor performance as opposed to tanking. Lets remember that even if every team is trying to win, someone will always finish in last place. Under those proposed anti-tanking rules teams that finish lower may suffer even if they're trying to win. This could just make it harder for lower ranked teams to catch the ones above them.

With 2,6 million you'll never qualify for a HOARDING tax...

Some people don't understand... Smh

Indeed, it's rather people with more than 20M on their bank account who are concerned.

Why would those people be concerned when they can buy the best TSP/price players on the market and get below whatever level they set as the minimum for the tax?

There is another measure which might come in handy. Introduce a maintenance cost to the arena: lower a bit the cost of building seats, allow the possibility to reduce seats for a fee or for free. This will hit everyone of course, but mostly people who carry large arenas they cant fill in lower divisions. The amount of maintenance must be well thought so that people have a convenience to destroy seats they don't use.

This is another money sink that will drain bank account, but more importantly will make it easier for smaller teams to compete at the next level.

Buddy I didn't say it that I need to pay this tax.I just said clearly that was the most money I ever had.And I specified that I am not one of those who tank.

I know... but then again, you made a very questionable statement:

luxury hoarding tax will punish us for some good work.

Having 20 million in the bank is not good work. Especially if you are playing in a DIV III, where this money could buy you a roster to promote to DIV I.

Making steady profit might be good work, but at some point (hint!) you have to spend all that money, thats pretty easy to understand, innit?

Then, how would you qualify a team which has 20M on its bank account and which dominates, has trophies etc. ? Why would the manager buy new players to improve his team ?

And how would a higher salary floor impact such a team? At one point players have to be bought, as age will diminish the skills of every player.
