Yep I completely agree with this. I talked to manon about 5 seasons ago about SB when it wasn't popular. It is, I think, the one skill that let's you be able to play multiple defensive sets other than man to man. I have also been trying to make a similar team with lots of SB

I've tried some 1-3-1 and it can be really good as long as your center with lots of SB also has good rebounding.

One of the major complaints besides the dominance of LI was that the 3pt shot is almost dead in BB. So if you figured out that 3-2 in combination with SB is good defensive option against even LI this matter is not solved at all.

I don't think this is an issue with GE but more with the way players are trained. Everyone believes OD is one of the best skills to train, but is it really? Is it the most cost effective? People only train JR up to 11 and then they complain players can't hit threes. Or they train players to great JR levels but then complain that it costs too much.

I think it's just that people don't train efficiently enough. Has anyone thought that the BBs were right all along about the importance of SB? Some of us have seen it while majority still don't believe it. You can have a very effective defender while having great JR and the salary doesn't have to be ridiculous. It just takes careful planning to get those guards SB training instead of pumping OD.

i looked at it from another angle: if 3-2, like you and nachtmahr proved, can efficiently defend LI AND outside tactics (given the right players). Then we will maybe see teams that play 3-2 all the time. this will then cause even harder times for 3pt shooters.

you can argue, that if you play 3-2 on the other hand you may be able to play with slightly less OD at the guard positions because the 3-2 zone gives you a bonus at defending outside anyway. this enables the team which is playing 3-2 to play good shooters.

but you said even in this case you still favor OD.

and your SF will need a lot of OD too, so you will want to swap some shooting in favour of his OD ... again this is just theoretically, but it may signify hard times for 3pt shooting teams to come.

but lets see if JR proves as useful on a high lvl like SB does before we jump to conclusions. maybe there is a team out there who will experiment with it.

also I doubt that everyone will adopt your tactic and play 3-2 and GDp inside from now on. there may not be enough players to copy it
