Yea, some league just got 5 promoting III teams instead of 4 up and 1 down.

Disconcerting to see that everyone but Reston has logged on within the past 36 hrs

To them I ask: what's it like to manage a team of such wisdom & experience ? Has anyone hit legendary yet ??

After a brief look at this years competition, I wonder how we won 19 games last year and fear that this season will see a dramatic drop off. Props to Smallfries for some gutsy, late season moves in XXIV and coming within 20 points of the NBBA.

I've read through the Season XXV posts discussing our league. Is League II.4 really the toughest ??

I thought so at first, but I've rethought that. I only lost twice last season and I'm sure that this season, I won't lose more than two league games(*).

(*) - in any given week.

:), Almost missed that little astrick at the end. I don't know if our league is the toughest, I actually don't pay any attention to the other Div II teams, but I know that my team that promoted 2 season's ago was at best a 4th place team in this league the last two years. That aside, it does appear that BB is doing it's best to kill teams that are created to run a particular type of strategy (read the post for new season.) How does everybody feel about it? I'm really undecided - I agree that look inside is probally to strong of an offense still, but I'm not sure how I feel about the new game training feature concept.

hrudey, just checking to see if Daryl Meyers is going to make it through the season...I can't tell if he's bleeding profusely from his scalp or if one of his teammates just barfed on his head after practice...

He's not bleeding. He's bald. He's currently having the power of alien awesomeness osmosed into his skill from our team psychologist Bl'O'tox'Q from Planet Q (not it's real name, but the last time I misspelled it I was subjected to some probing).

I like the changes. What new game training feature are you referring to?

Our first announcement is an addition to the tactics page. BuzzerBeater coaches have discovered that, if they can correctly predict which strategy an opposing team will use, they can get in some last-minute practice and be stronger on the court. You’ll be given the option to predict your opponent’s strategy for a game -- if you guess correctly, your team will get a nice boost against that tactic for the game; however, if you’re wrong, your team won’t perform as well. Of course, you will still have the option of not making a specific prediction, in which case nothing will change. The coaches have suggested that this will help teams compete against opponents with one, dominant strategy. We plan to release this feature for testing in scrimmages during the AllStar break

I was a lot more excited about that feature until I realized that all of you guys can just predict that I'll run a Motion and negate the advantage. I do like it though, in almost any sport, game or competition, if you know some tactic is coming and you prioritize negating it, you should be able to perform better against it.

Agreed, I'm just not so sure how I feel about that particular change - that's sort of the concept behind the defensive changes. I know to run 3-2 zone against you to offset your motion offense. It will probally just turn out to have a similar affect like the transfer list change did on game shape. Just enough to make us question it, but in the long run to real lasting impact.

Maybe... and it remains to be seen how much of a difference that will make in-game. But I think at the very least it will help combat the LI dominance that's gone unchallenged at the higher levels for so long. As you said, against me you can run a 3-2 zone (or even a 1-3-1) whereas against the LI teams, I can't always rely on a 2-3 zone.

At the very least, it may force some LI teams to go with Low Post instead unless they don't mind absorbing the penalty. I'm a fan of the change.

PS - Have any of you guys played around with the player appearance editor? My new draftee (30647188) just had facial reconstruction surgery. I wish I could give him a mask like Amar'e or Rip Hamilton!
