why not give everything you have and try to end on a positive note ??

I think the better question is why would he give everything he has? The value of winning that game for him was zero, but by going out of his way to to take a game that actually matters to me, he made an enemy of me. I guess what I'm saying is that it's nice to have an unspoken agreement that if a game is meaningless to team A and important to team B, team A isn't going to go out of their way to screw over team B. I see that I don't have that with Tech Fouls and I'll remember it, hence my post.

I love when guys are so adamant about how others should run their own teams. Lol

He can run his team as he pleases. And in general I agree with you that there's too much complaining in the forums about CTs, etc. In this case I think it's justified as there was absolutely nothing to be gained for him by winning this game. But as you point out, he can run his team how he wants, and I'll respond in kind.

You make the playoffs regardless of the outcome, and either way you will have to go through Bullish Mentality to win...not sure what the big deal is...

I'm guessing most of you are too cliquish to admit to it, but I'd be very surprised if you didn't all have the same reaction if I CTed you under similar circumstances. Or, for a more extreme example, if one of the tanking teams suddenly bought 5 good players and CTed you, then went back to tanking against everybody else, I think you'd be rightfully upset. Obviously that's a more extreme example, but it's the same idea - a team acting in a way that hurts another team when they have no motivation for doing so.

You should have quit this argument while you were behind...now you just sound like a total douche bag. Listen to yourself...you are actually whining because a guy chose to beat you...and the basis of your complaint sounds like you think he owes you something...like he's supposed to pause, and say to himself "Well, I could get one last bit of enjoyment in this crappy injury riddled season and try to get a win against a great team....but wait, if I do that, I might hurt his feelings...I might deprive him of a win that he feels he's entitled to...after all, I am a lowly 8th seeded team on my way back to D2, clearly I owe this guy something...he deserves the win".....

Whatever dude...get over yourself....You aren't entitled to anything! This is a competitive sports game...who the heck are you to question a guys motives for trying for the win, especially when doing so is 100% within the rules.

i've got to say this about preparing to play TKI -- magiker experiments (trains?) so much that his team statistics are meaningless. and when he does put his best foot forward -- as i'm thinking he did in this last game against Yuck -- then the results are distorted by the in-game injury to Reedy.

so i'm reduced to thinking what i would do if i were him -- but he is almost certain to throw some twist into that expectation my limited brain did not anticipate. scary opponent.

one of the strange aspects of BB is the limited rewards for making the playoffs. there may be some sort of attendance boost the next season, but i've often thought it crazy that making and losing the initial playoff game was too heavily penalized (at this level, a rough reduction in income of $300,000). that's a serious hit to someone on a tight budget.

as for the rest, i agree it was fine for TF to CT, and it is fine for Tucumcari to be upset and blow off steam but i hope ozone remembers he has one of the three or four best teams in the country and he was always going to play Bullish Mentality on his court. and, for me this counts as a lot, you will be back here next season.

as for lathrop, i am reminded of Job, or more particularly, Job's wife, who after seeing the troubles befall her hubby said, "Curse God and die" -- understandable advice, to me. Job told his wife to STFU.

Ok, this is devolving into name calling and going around in circles so I'll make this my last post. This has nothing to do with feeling entitled or having my feelings hurt. My point was simply that nothing would have been lost by not CTing the game since it meant nothing to him, but something would have been gained because I'd remember it when the situations are reversed. Now I'll remember the opposite. And, fwiw, I now see that I'm in the minority on this.

This post definitely struck me funny.

As in regards to TF and the Whalers, I agree with both teams. Technical Fouls had to win their last 3 games. So he likely came up with this strategy of Normal, Normal, CT. Though he did lose the 2nd game, and had no chance to avoid the 8th spot, he decided to stay with the same strategy.
