i hadn't given a thought to the change, in part because i have seen frequent exceptions. for example, (23095779). or (31225778) or (25425927)

thylacine's roster has some nice players -- too bad. by reducing the supply of such players, i can't see how this does anything but push prices for top talent even higher.

NT players become free-agents even if outside the >60 skill points and salary <$60k parameters. The second guy you list fits the requirements, with a $47k salary and 119 skill points

Multiple seasons of people complaining regardless of what approach was taken likely led to this. A big issue seemed to be that the prior parameters mostly sent players to FA who the top league teams could use, while too many mid-level players or solidly trainable players would retire. The current parameters appear to be intended to fill what is perceived as a "gap" in the type of players who are normally placed on the transfer list by active teams.

thanks for both correcting my error (what's $13,000 among friends?) and clearing this up.

i still see no reason why this will not increase pricing pressures for players suitable for this level, which means that light i see at the end of the tunnel is a bit more clearly a train heading my way . . .

i suppose conclusions should be avoided until we see what the wealth tax looks like.

I've always valued the NBBA title over the cup. However, as much as it pains me to toss league games...I'm not one to pass up money. I want that cash prize.

Tonight's story: Revenge of the Big 8.

a clean sweep across the board, with the exception of GH - Arizona.

Thanks :-)

That was a weird game tonight though. I am sure G Khan was frustrated with all the fouling 30-13 resulting in a 47-14 advantage in free throw attempts for my team...and then I am sure he was really steaming at the end of the game with all 5 of his starters on the bench in a tight game for almost all of the final 4 minutes of the game.

I'll gladly take the win...but weird way to arrive at it.

i get the spirit in which you replied, but to offer a serious retort, at this level, a given team's capability is quite hidden for all kinds of reasons and decisions. i have more or less gone through the Big 8 portion of the schedule with incredible luck -- both you and Hoosier (twice!) made our contests walkovers for your own strategic reasons, and so got destroyed in PD but i know damn'd well that if we were to meet again, especially on your court, with no injuries, then the results would be quite different.

there is an Olympic sport involving bicycles on some sort of track -- could it be called "bicycle race" or is there some funny name for it? -- where the cyclists go around the track for most of the race at this slow pace, gently jockeying for position, and then BAM! the gun lap comes and everyone pedals like mad and the race is over. that is how i see the every season in this league -- we are getting to the gun lap and the several coaches are making their calculations and it doesn't really matter if you have 11 wins (like GH and Upsyndrome) or "only" 8 or 9 (like you and the frozen Allstars), now the race for HCA or a favorable seed in either the playoffs or relegation begins. +o(

Ha, good analogy. Those I believe are called sprint races. But the only sprinting done is at the very end. Weird sport man.

I wrapped up the round robin of the B3 at 6-2 and unfortunately that isn't going to get me through to the next round. It was a long shot but I was hoping to sneak in. Such a challenge to keep up with the foreign teams!
