i'm in for season 2!

...and just after your announcement, you were able to pull off one of biggest upset wins in HGL so far, as Heywood Big Dogs ($520K top8 salaries, 8 wins and 1 loss before Round 10) collapsed finally on 3rd quarter losing that by 20, and last quarter comeback attempt against Chucarro's Club Trouville (top 8 salaries $216K, 2W-7L before round 10) fell 9 points short of overtime!

To be fair, though, just as Deano25 earlier mentioned, top8-salary is maybe not very optimal in comparing whole team efficiency/competitiveness (as more equally balanced teams in terms of salary might often be more successful, but please remember he's also thinking of the benefit of team Australia, as he is training players for Australian national team), if team has for instance two very expensive players who take massive chunk of the top8 budget.
And HEY has won 2 matches this season only by 1 point, so I guess it was inevitable, that someone else than either of top 2 teams might be able to beat them this season.

Another really tight match was between underdog Madrid Chotis (211K, 4W-5L previously) and Rajdersi (305K, 5W-4L previously) - so another victory for Rajdersi in a tight match. We Finns surely won't forget his recent Round 7 win (against Suuret Muinaiset, by 2 points)... But actually this was already Rajdersi's 5th (!) match of the season, which was decided by 5 points or less (and from those 5 matches 3 wins and 2 losses as a result) - what an exciting Season 1 in Poland so far!

So, no changes in positions on league table after Round 10 of play (if we don't count cosmetical swap of places between SRS and BIG due to scoring difference comparison, but real determining factor between them will somewhat likely be Round 12 match on May 16th), but with an upset win Club Trouville is now a one win ahead of Lielupes Melnas Sirdis and Buckner Bandits in a fight for the last playoff position.
And I guess loss for Heywood Big Dogs made reaching 3rd position on Regular Season feeling bit more realistic for some teams (despite huge top8 salary), as there are now 3 teams within one win of HEY - only team of those that hasn't still lost to HEY and still has a possibility to seal a winning record (and therefore automatically better Regular Season ranking) against HEY is Suuret Muinaiset, as HEY vs. SUM will be played on May 16th!

Rajdersi, currently at 6W-4L also has a match left against HEY on Round 14, so theoretically they also have a chance to finish 3rd, especially as they were able to beat SUM earlier by 2 points and are ahead of SUM if they will end up having equal number of wins... I have a feeling we're going to have couple of interesting equal amounts of wins-kind of situations at the end of the Regular Season! :)

It's time for Round 11 of 15 of Regular Season - we're definitely getting closer to key times of the year, as we're "fighting" for best possible HGL Playoff positions!

Please remember, that 4 best teams will automatically qualify for Second Round of Playoffs, without even stepping on the court...
And for most lower ranked (lower than top 4) teams, most importantly remember that home court advantage is already in use for First Round of HGL Playoffs, which take place between teams from 4th to 12th position, so in other words teams ranked from 4th to 7th will receive a precious home court advantage for the First Round of Playoffs, which could be one of the decisive factors!

As for Round 11 matches, we will have very important and supposedly quite close one (in terms of score, based on top8 salaries) between Lielupes Melnas Sirdis (13th in league table; 2 wins-8 losses so far) and Club Trouville (12th; 3W-7L; TRO was able to snatch a win against one of the top ranked teams, HEY, on Round 10). Obviously this match is especially important for LMS, as by winning they would be able to even their win-loss record with TRO, and take a hold of the last (12th) Playoff position!

Also I'm looking forward to meeting Madrid Chotis today, as they also could even up the W-L record with my team by beating me - while I have a $59K higher Top8-salaries compared to Madrid Chotis, I'm expecting this to be quite even match, especially as one of my key players seems to be in less than ideal game shape this week.

Another interesting one could be HEY vs. HAD, a clash between teams with Top 8-salary ranks number 1 (HAD; $639K) and number 3 (HEY; $520K). Their Top2 player salaries are huge, and actually very close to each other, but HAD (Svätý Jur Snakers) have higher level players on salary ranks from 3rd to 8th.
Whether or not this is going to be a close call or not, it's nevertheless interesting to see the actual score (team level difference currently) between most expensive and 3rd most expensive team in HGL.

For those of us that use Buzzer-Manager, just out of interest;

Have you already checked out what kind of salary estimates buzzer-manager gives to your trainees (estimated salary, presented on grey color on the page that lists all your players with their salaries and skills), as that could already somewhat closely reflect their salary on next BB season?
I was asking that, because it's going to be interesting to see how much HGL teams' Top8 salaries have developed as we proceed from Season 1 to Season 2!

And while you mentioned that you're not getting too much enjoyment out of HGL at the moment (due to losing badly) I can assure you that being as experienced (and to me you also appear as patient, even though you've occasionally mentioned that you're not)manager as you are, you will be able to dig yourself out of that skill point hole.

I was asking this from everyone on my most recent posting, but let me just also ask directly from you, that have you checked out buzzer-manager in terms of what kind of estimated salary development there will be for your team (based on training this season, as I assume B-M takes into account skill drops and pop-ups that have occurred during this season, while current salary only takes into account skill point situation that occurred between the season changes)?

Yes. I used it at the start of the season to map out the value of every skill pop and end salaries for all my players.

1. I decide on the season's training plan. (all 14 weeks)
2. I then use the training coefficients to work out the likely values of total pops for the entire season.
3. I then use Buzzer Manager, input all of these 'predicted' TSPs and arrive at a close approximate of the end salary for each of my players. I have done this, and will continue to do this...for my 1st and 2nd team.

The coefficients I use are mostly accurate although some need to be updated. However, I still use them as they usually under predict the likely training. Therefore, I over predict player TSps so I can estimate worse-case salaries.

However, given the situation I am in (8 players) and making $60-80k a week profit, and not needing to worry about the salaries going higher, I'm not too concerned at this point. I still do it as I like to be prepared.

I'm thinking there are a few managers who, like me, don't see the point in posting the same information in 3 separate places. It seems unnecessarily extra work. (1) Every game is already available via the master posts at the beginning of the HGL Scores thread. (2) Then we are to post our results again in the same thread. One of the two managers for that game does this without doubling up. (3) Then a third time on our own posts where all the games are listed?

Seems like overkill, Wagner.

Surely once we have a full list like we do at the start of the HGL Scores thread, where every single game is linked for anybody to view anytime, the need for game scores to be posted in other places seems unnecessary?
