They do, better game shape equates to better player performance, which equates to higher ratings, but someone who has put much more into the statistical analysis of the game would have to tell you to how much of a degree.

I'm sort of leaning that way, my team in general is / was getting to old to hold together much longer and remain at a competitive level. It's sort of a promote and rebuild, or don't promote and rebuild.

Yea, it's about time you rebuilt. Just a few observations about how old your players are:

Their player IDs are double digits!
They were drafted in negative numbered seasons!
They saw Edju win NBBA games!
