Hello to all !
Due to the loss of my pair of glasses, reading all this messages was a pain :D
I swear to answer to the question of schedule tonight ;)

You got that right - in my case it's a no brainer, I'm in!
We do have a lot to discuss and decide, but I'm sure we'll get things sorted out to get The BBHG League (now this was a blend of a name that's easy to remember, right? ;P) started by next season!

Now as it seems that LOPO dropped his team out of BBHG, we have 13 teams. Locking amount of participating teams without delaying things too much (if there is no point of doing so) is a good principle, but seeing the interest we've had during the last week or so, I wouldn't find it surprising to find even 3 more teams who'd be willing to participate before we create/lock in the schedule for the next season.

In terms of familiarity (and amount of participating teams should there be 2 divisions starting from season 2) I think it wouldn't be bad thing at all to start league with 16 teams. I'm not saying 14 wouldn't work (percentage wise, should the traditional BB league system be used almost "as is", it would include more teams to postseason play if we play with 14 teams), but it would add the familiarity aspect to the max to use 16 teams ((and for some, it might look like more convincing that we have "a full league table" (in the sense of traditional BB style) of interested participants to present in our first season))... :)

I'll get back to your other points/considerations/suggestions that you have written today a bit later as soon as I have bigger chunk of time to use for it.

Just a few words for the name of the league.
I would suggest, as a SF Fan, H²G² : Honorable/HeroIc Home Grown G... (I haven't already found the last G) ^^

1 Division with 14 teams

All 14 teams play each other (13 weeks)

Semifinals played between top 4 teams (1v4) (2v3) Winners go to final. (1 week)

Final (1 week) Winner of two semifinals play each other. (1 week)

15 weeks total.
