fire sales are interesting. what i learned from the stuff you had on your front lawn:

1) i would bet dimes to donuts that DeSouza had drops in JS / JR -- no way he can score like he was capable with only a 14 / 10 (although a 14 IS is nice).
2) i always thought Enli was your best player. would love to have seen his abilities in his prime.
3) i woulda thought Choi and Toby D. would have been keepers -- low salary, talented, good for a mid-range Cup run.
4) good eye for starting prices. you already have bids on several players.
5) very good eye for value. you don't have my talent for overpaying for lesser ability. i can send you some hints in a private email.

good luck going forward.

I lost by 28 with 2 correct guesses. I was never getting past Golden Horde - I certainly didn't underestimate him. All my starters played between 112 and 127 minutes the previous week, so even training game shape, everyone was in pretty low 8 GS. I wouldn't have beat any of the playoff teams on the road with that GS, let alone GH.

Plus, if you're not gonna win the title, which I wasn't on the road with bad GS, I think it's financially better to lose now. I didn't pay my 942k in salaries this morning. If I had beat GH, and then lost in the finals in two games, it would have cost me around 400k.

Didn't they make a change a season or two ago to make it the same financially whether it goes for 2 or 3 games?

I think he had 16 JS at his prime (or maybe 17). Not sure about JR though, it might have always been 10 actually. I can tell you he had a double drop in OD not long before the playoffs which was particularly painful.

I thought about keeping them, but they're good and still not that old, so I figure they'll sell pretty high. The help that they could give me in the next few seasons is probably not worth the depreciation.

i would say that this season's voting is pretty definitive: being on a winning squad is decisive. Eckert did not get a single vote.
