Well since no one is asking questions I'll lift a couple of the questions one sees in a thread like this in BB Italia and when the others have responded I'll take them up myself:

I think these are valid questions you posed to the election competition, but I believe the real question is already out there. You stated before that you are not interested in just the position but also the improvement of the program for the future. BB-Charles touched upon the issue of national participation and it's relevance to the program both in training and shape. I mentioned two reasons that may contribute to lack of interest in the NT and U21 in the USA. Other than making training recommendations and asking to keep players in better game shape, in what ways can a U21 or NT coach reach out to the American community? Any ideas or plans to increase USA's managers interest in the community once they do find the correct forum?

I believe this is an important aspect of leading a national squad that relies on the managers below them, and would be interested to hear any ideas on this subject from any of the candidates.

I personally find the forums a bit dry for my taste. I have been told this by a few others as well. You are just as likely to get ignored, stomped, uninformative dismissal or closed thread as you are to get an informative response or continuation of discussion, especially for the newer user-those most suited to train NT players. Alienated on arrival. Light hearted or funny responses seem a bit shunned as well. Just my opinion. Sometimes I cringe when I click the forum link after posting in the forums. Not the most 'community oriented' environment.

I agree with this assessment of the forums. Taking a look at the wider look: I hadn't, until today, looked at the Help - English forum for months due to the (I guess now mostly abandoned) practice of locking the thread once it had been answered which really isn't friendly and didn't show as being a post to you and who is going to think to lock in a locked thread if they are reading the forum for answers?

I also dislike the million and one stickies on Global and all the non-content (avatars, flags, orange circles) on the new forum is turning me off and making me less likely to read forums.

/me puts on devil's advocate hat

What's the incentive for me, as joe average user, to care about the national teams?

I find talking about the current state of tactics as interesting as talking about rock, paper, scissors strategy and there is nothing a national team coach can do about that.

Granted there is some interesting discussion about how many levels of secondary skills make up for a lack main skill but that is more roster composition than game tactics.

I've asked some version of this question in almost every election, but I'm always curious about the responses. How would your approach to roster selection differ between Qualifying and World's? Do you think it's worthwhile to get 20yo's involved during qualifying?

To be honest, I think your view of what we have contributed in the past two seasons is not very generous.

I was not implying this was all that you did, I just wanted to eliminate the generic and obvious response to my question. My question was concerning the future and for all candidates, not a comment on the past two seasons.

I am sorry. Either you think there was progress in this dimension in the last two seasons or you think there wasn't.

Huh? Did you read what I said?

I asked a question but didnt want to hear the generic response from any of the candidates. End of story.

It was decided that locking Help threads (unless they were spam, transfer ads, etc.) wasn't helping much of anybody, so that forum is moderated more, uh, laxly than others.

I also dislike the million and one stickies on Global

We're trying to see if it's feasible to add an ads system to kill at least four of the stickies right there, and we're always reviewing them. I agree that it's quite cluttered.
