They actually do have that as an option. You can practice a play and record it. Then watch the play run 10x's and make adjustments as needed. I like the ability to call you own plays live during the game. The biggest downside is you have roughly 10-15 days in a row where you have an hour invested in a live game every day to do so, followed by the rest of the month being spent on down time activities. Really reminds me a lot of NFL Head Coach when that came out, great concept game once again, just not developed nearly well enough to be succesful.
Yes, and I used that, but I'd really like to be able to run through the play in the editor frame by frame so I can see at what point the QB is starting to make his first read, second, etc and be able to time the receivers' patterns to that. I never ended up getting NFL Head Coach, mostly because of that reason - had played a little of some of the old Sierra / FOF sims but never really found one that really knocked it out of the park for me. At one point I had thought about trying to come up with my own sim to at least address some of my minor peeves with the whole genre - I'd really like to have a mode where there's simply no way to find out the true raw ratings of players *OR* staff, for example. But free time isn't exactly copious these days, my overpresence on this forum notwithstanding.
