Major Hacks Bro?!! Well we all have em (Hacks i guess), Iv kind of rebuilt on the fly since i am in a poor division with only about 4-6 good teams..But damn, last season I only lost 2 games and then i lost my div finals due to 2 of my older yet best players were injured. I'll get back, a little slower but surely.

My team is relatively bad ass. Pound the ball inside the whole game, and take pride in playing good defense. I've only lost in rebound total twice all season. So basically what i did was get 3 good bigs. a rebounder, a scorer, and a defender. But while i was mainly looking for someone who strictly did that, i lucked out and got three guys who could score well, and my rebounder and defender are still magnificent at those two things. and btw i run low post every game.

on to my SG and SF. My SG needed to have at least 14 OD and 9 Driving. so i got one with 15 OD and 10 Driving. i wasn't worried at all with his shooting abilities, but he did have to pass somewhat respectably as well. My SF is strictly a defensive player, 10 OD 8 ID, but i got lucky and found one that could pass and dribble well. his actual position is a PG.

PG's/Trainee's. I think in a low post offense, the PG is the most important position so i train them the way i need them. My PG right now is a pass-only guy and thats simply because i want my PF and C shooting. So i got my PG's driving up to 10 and now i'm training strictly OD and passing. I'm 15-3 right now in a competitive d.4 league. or at least i'd say its competitive because everyone but the bottom 3 teams in the league sign in every week. so what i'm doing has to be working right? haha

well anyway, my future right now is to stay in d.4 for another year just to expand the arena and maybe get a little younger. Then i'm going to try and promote and hopefully compete right away in d.3. But i guess we'll just have to see

I just want to say that if you mean competing for a championship right away, that's incredibly hard. Most top DIII teams carry 300k plus salary and have been in III at least 3 or 4 seasons, usually more. If you just mean being middle of the pack, that's probably more realistic.

Some good points man...Great Idea. Thats what i am building toward is a low post pound the shit out of my oppenent. I hope to be in D-4 next season as we have a team that toatlly loaded up so Nobody is getting by him our div. But for sure with you man. I want to be more defensive oriented. I do have 3 bigs similar to what you have, scoring, defense and rebounding, I have a bad-ass small forward that can play SG as well and he happens to be one of my trainees.

Yep..I was just setting my tactics for tonights game and my opponent plays a 2-3 constantly. So, I'll prob use Patient or motion tonight as he is a pretty good team defensively.

Just a heads up, while its easier to make a team a low post/inside team and is clearly a solid tactic, you also need to have the ability to run a different tactic when needed (Run'n'Gun/Patient/Motion) as better teams can spot an inside only team a mile away, and change there defense to force your SG/PG/SF to take more outside shots. Being predictable will cause your team to hit a wall somewhere around div3. I would say I am 60-70% inside tactics, and the other 30% comes from Patient, motion, or at the very least inside ISO.

Keep your options open

I don't really agree with this. I think in BB the key to success is rather than being okay at several things, be awesome at something.

I was very fortunate when I joined BB and immediately the #1 team in the country became my mentor...shortly thereafter I developed some connections with several other top level players in the game, and quickly understood all the nuances of enthusiasm and game shape managemnt. Those two things alone gives you a free ticket out of D5....I ended up in the toughest DIV league in game, and it took me several seasons to get out...but also forced me become a D3 team while still in DIV and I had no choice but build a solid team.

My origonal team had two players that immediately became my favorite players...unfortunately as 6th man, and starter potential, they capped nearly overnight. I heard about shorter players training faster, so I bought Gunay Onkol for $5K. Since then I have raised my standard on potential and wish he had more than Allstar potential, but he's been my starting SG since he capped...while his stats are not overly impressive, he does his job and fits my team well. I capped out a second player, James Shoemaker, and he has moved to SF. I am currently training Danila, Zvonc, and Bisi. Danila is absolutely sick!! My favorite all time player, and getting better by the week.

I have completed 8 seasons in BB, and have been then to the finals 6 times, winning and promoting 4 of them. I built a sick team when i promoted to D2, but it took 8 games into the season to get their GS up and having the team clicking in all ways...unfortunately I dug too deep a hole starting off 1-7....I had to play on the road in game 1...Without HCA, and playing PON vs POCT we gave up a layup at the buzzer and lost...most heartbreaking loss of my career. As much as I loved that team, it wasn't deep, and too foul prone...so I opted to focus on trainees, sell of the bigs, and drop down to 3 again for a running start.

I went 22-0 in my return to D3, and am now back in D2, and ready for a fun playoff run! Nobody has wondered what I will do since season 14 in terms of tactics. I play LI every game...I know it, my opponent knows it. I don't worry about it. I don't care if opposing teams play me m2m, or 2-3 zone...I believe my LI will be strong enough to prevail. I have a team built on defense, passing, and a team concept where everyone on the court is working towards the same goal.

I see too many teams in BB trying so hard to have a balanced attack, and I think in this particular game, in some ways those things work against you. I guess in a nutshell, you have to consider the tactics you are playing, and the ratings necessary to be successful at those tacticts, and also which ratings actually work against that tactic. So these "balanced" teams sometimes have players that actually work against the desired goal. So my philosophy is to have 5 guys on the court at all times, working towards the same thing, working together to make the collective 5 much better than they are as individual players.

I would encourage the newer players to find a mentor. Also, there are great Federations to join that have some top notch owners that are more than willing to talk BB, and help guide you in efforts to be powerful force in this game!
