I'm shopping for a new trainer but to my dismay, there doesn't seem to be any holiday specials. Paying 1m+ for a trainer (lvl 5 w/ career extension) is a ridiculous waste of money. What idiots spread this epidemic? Not enough supply for demand.

You nailed it on the supply and demand comment. It is following the prices of what the top players are going for (as evidenced by your purchases and sales this season). Add in the fact you are looking for essentially looking to purchase a hedge/insurance to protect the value of your purchases, a trainer that not only helps young players but also old ones, you have a fairly rare commodity and the market is pricing in that scarcity.

Completely agree that it is a waste of money but that seems to be the new normal for now.

Well, I acquired a lvl 5 career extension trainer (I payed 640K for a 23k starting salary). It took two weeks of bidding wars with a bunch of noobs, until finally I had enough of this shenanigans.

Two American managers, including the one I just outbid now, had no players over the age of 25. Yet, they went Leroy Jenkins on my ass. Bastards.

I came up my first time and realized I wasn't in a position to stay up so I tanked out, took in the cash and rebuilt to a more sustainable situation. I understand what you are saying.

i'm willing to do what i can just to keep a team around that has for its logo a cheerful banjo-playing banana wearing boots.

here's my advice: use BL and trust the AI to make the right decisions.

on a more ominous note, i just saw that Upsyndrome defeated Irvine's A-squad by 60 points. His big men are all in gear, with Bowens, Hunt, and Simmons averaging a game rating of 20.

Not quite, his 7K trainee played 48 minutes at center. But Bowens enjoyed some BBQ chicken in the paint.

So...we're up by 55 points at half and Kris Hunt heaves a full court lob. If the opportunity presented it's self he would block the shot of an impaired athlete, then dunk on him shortly after with no regard. True champion, folks.

A belated congratulations to Hassan on cracking the 100 win club earlier this season! Magiker should get there in short order. It will be interesting to see if the Traptors can get that one more win before the bot monster gets him.

Yea, I was prepared to punt to Toronto until I realized that he was on autopilot and has no enthusiasm. Actually puts me in a weird spot for minutes this week but I guess I'll figure out the next 2 games after I see what minutes I end up with tonight.

Might have to be a GS training week.
