Yea, the main effect of doctors is injury prevention. I think there's a small extent to which they help guys recover after the fact but it's not too helpful. I've got a 16k advanced doc and I haven't had many injuries, 1-2 per season, nothing longer than 2 weeks for a long time.

Would a better doctor stop players from getting injured, or does he just make the injury heal faster? )

It's pretty much what Dunkface said...Injury prevention is the main thing, but the level of the Doctor also factors in to determining how long the injury is. So if you have a level 4 Dr. and your play suffers a 3 week injury'; it might have been just a 2 week, or even 1 week injury with a higher level Doctor.

i was looking over your prospects:
1) you bought an 18 year old MVP prospect for under $90,000? Amazing.

2) Floch may qualify to be member of the Register-Guard. i am always interested in someone who averages 3.5 fouls in 31 minutes of play. you just can't teach that level of hacking skill.

Can't be all that dangerous with a team that went bot 6 months ago :-) He's too busy with his job and new girlfriend to worry about BB anymore :-)

one aspect of this game that never seems to be commented upon is the schedule. i think it plays as large a role as injuries, but unlike that disaster, there seems to be nothing we as managers can do to draw a favorable schedule -- whatever that may be.

i say this as i see the Cacti and the Whalers and others making late-season moves and i am envious. my schedule had given me two recent weeks of two away games in a week, which wiped out much of my cash-on-hand. the last away game i had, with TKI, i decided for strategic reasons to punt (not that i could have won anyway), but that team is my rival, and it was on TV. my home tonight with the Cacti will see probably thousands of empty seats and my merchandise for the rest of the season takes a hit. the good news -- the yin to all that yang -- is that four of my last six games are home games. but those revenues will come too late to help me this season.

the point here is not to sing another round of the BB Blues, but just to point out the impact the schedule has on performance and our results, which is significant, but never noted.
