So I'm in a relatively inactive league, and despite finishing fairly high, project to have a chance at landing a good draft pick, both due to inactive teams, and a lack of investment in draft points from the active teams.

I've accumulated 40 draft points this year. With the new system, what is the most effective way to find the best talent in the draft?

it depends what u are looking for.

In my opinion, which btw, i havent used the new system this year, my plan would be to run one of the 'skill revealers'

this will give you a list of the 2 skills of all the players.

In my opinion, the Extra Pass one is important for guards, because, JR and Passing are two really hard skills to train for guards. Conversely for bigs, a big man with good JR/PS means you won't have to worry about these secondaries later on.
I think the Cut Inside is the wasteful one. Driving is piece of cake to train, even on a big who is low. and for a guard, ID is a bit of a meh....then just use scout + interview on the selection of guys that you like for those two skills... if u jag a high potential player with good skills, then bonus. NOT 100% sure this is the right way to go - time will tell.

And like i said, depends on what u want - do u even want a trainee or just the best guy to sell?

In which case, you could also just find the youngest guy with the highest potential. Scout Combine, then group demo, this will give you all the 18 year olds AND a better assessment of the 18 year olds that were originally 1/2 star. this should reveal approximately 5-6 4star or 5 star players. Interview them, and there is 30-32 points spent.
If you don't find a 5 ball potential player in that lot, you will have approximately 15 18 year olds remaining with unknown star rating. Use the box score to eliminate things such as high fouling/low assists, high turnovers, and then scout - when u find a 5 ball, interview that guy.

u might spend ur 40 points before finding a good 5/5 player, but you will come very close. and you should also find some other good players along the way.

hope this helps.

I would just stick to the 2 older options. If there are more than ten eighteen year olds in the bottom use the 10 point option to scout them all once. This would be after your 10 point option to scout all the ages. Then just start scouting 18 year olds one at a time and scout the 5 stars twice. The new system gives options but none are as effective as this to find your 5/5 A+ 18 year olds if your draft is lucky enough to have one.
