Do you favor or oppose merging Utopian players with existing world players into a single transfer market.

Poll:  Do you favor or oppose merging Utopian players with existing world players.

Merge Utopia players into the transfer market
Keep Utopia Players in their own tranmsfet market

Nice typing by me. Tranmsfet = Transfer.
I guess it is shorthand for transfermarket.

If that was a separate server, that would mean several things.

The pool of players to buy for would be small, really small. As of now, when you need a player, you have 20.000+ teams to get that players from. In a closed server, that would 10 times less at best. Expect some waiting list to get the player you want.

The pool of teams to sell to ? Same, a lot thinner than now.

What that would do to the market in that Utopia server ? It would be slower than the actual one and probably a lot more bumpy.

I agree and like that aspect. I would like to see how others feel about this single issue without guessing by the number of posts. I imagine this will be a highly debated topic.

The first seasons would be very dependent on player development and a unique challenge from the present game - at least for the first few seasons.

My only possible issue is the possibility of farming so I would still like a restriction on that you cannot buy players from your host nations country, but besides that I do not see a problem with it.

That’s what I’m defending on the other thread. For me that's exactly the awesomeness in closed market for Utopia. There are no references anymore, as the closed market would never get near the shape of the current market. Everybody is out of their comfort zones. Utopia don’t have to play by the same references of the current game.

And also, every other aspect of the game (draft, game plan, training) would have it’s importance maximized.

I dont see the point of a closed market. One of the best aspect in BB is that the transfer market is functioning (almost a miracle actually) and to me it is a big part of the fun of the game. With a closed market u would only depend on the luck u have with your starting team : no one would sell any good player given the lack of depth of the market and the fact that prices would be quite erratic.I guess it would be very boring

But this wouldn't be solved if the new rosters were semi randomized? Every roster starting with at least 3 trainees or something? Or, since it’s a newborn “country”, all players starting with 20 years or less? This would take out a lot of the luck factor on the starting team.

About the other point, what would be a good player on a closed market? What's garbage today could not be garbage in Utopia. If we're all starting in division IV it means that are going to be 64 leagues. Since there are 48 players on the draft that means 3072 new players after the first year. In the current world, a huge bunch of those players get fired because they are not worth of going into the market. But that won't happen in Utopia right away (or ever) because of the lack of players. Everybody could use some role player on a closed market so that would give some depth to the market. And the prices can't be that high, otherwise nobody will afford it.

i can see ur point on 2k player being valuable in a closed market and the vision u have of a totally different game where we would be forced to try to take advantage of players we today see as crap.

But i think the weaknesses and the simplicity of the tactics available would be a big limit to this. because if ur 2k player has atrocious defense then u dont have any possibility to "hide" him with an adequate tactic as u would try to do it in real life. so i dont see how u could really build an interesting competition on that.
